Wow! What an amazing day we had on Saturday at the second Skipton Colour Run. It was absolutely fantastic to see so many smiles.

We are delighted to announce that the event raised £6500, all funds raised will go directly to enriching the experience of the students at The Skipton Academy.

We have so many people to thank for helping us raise so much money and for creating such a fun filled community event.

Firstly thank you so much to everyone who took part in the run and to everyone who came along to cheer them on.

Massive thanks to all our teacher/staff, parent and local community member volunteers and especially to our current, future and past student helpers/ paint throwers/ water pistol shooters.

Thanks to our 3 warm up volunteers Jane from Craven leisure and Ellis and Sam from Pure Gym - who not only got each wave race ready but also joined in the fun helping on the slip and slide spraying runners with water pistols.

Huge thanks to Alex, Patrick and Esmee from Your Skipton for keeping the event ticking to time and bringing the tunes, also seen having fun helping spray the participants! and for Esmee’s fantastic social media content from the day (check out their socials and our re-shares if you missed it) .

Shout out to Andrew at Manorlands and Skipton Road garage in Barnoldswick for loaning us equipment and obstacles.

I think everyone appreciated our food vendors keeping everyone fed throughout the day Treats by Steph, Paddy's Pizzas, Yorkshire Dales Ice creams, JJR Catering and Freshly Made Donuts.

Special thanks to Skipton Town Council for the community grant.

Last year's Skipton Colour Run raised nearly £6000 for The Skipton Academy PTA & Friends.

The money has been spent on enriching the students school experience at The Skipton Academy, from contributing to field trips, props and costumes for the fantastic Matilda show, the class of 2025 leavers prom and service, new additions to the sports curriculum and new tables.
