… And we’re back! Put down the bbq tools, the sunscreen and that ice lolly…

Classes start on Monday 7th September and run for 6 weeks until Monday 12th October.

Happy Tap 6.45pm
Happy Ballet 7.40pm

Both classes are 50 minutes. Both are mixed ability - I break down all techniques and offer three versions where possible: beginner, improver, intermediate - so something for everyone. The classes are for FUN, no exams, no pressure, just dance for dance sake!

For enquiries, please comment below or send me a DM. Bookings links will be coming out to my ‘regulars’ in the next few days. Can’t wait to see you all! Carole 😊

All these health benefits plus we have fun too! 😊

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to be anywhere else when you’re learning a tap dance combination?

You can’t replay yesterday’s conversation.

You can’t scroll through your mental to-do list.

You can’t worry about next week’s schedule.

Your brain is too busy listening, processing, coordinating, balancing, remembering, adjusting, and creating.

You have to be where your feet are.

That’s one of the reasons I love tap dance so much.

Yes, it’s exercise.

Yes, it’s creative.

Yes, it’s fun.

But it’s also one of the most powerful tools I’ve found for practicing presence.

Every time you learn a new rhythm, remember a sequence, shift your weight, or create something of your own, you’re asking your brain to build new pathways.

Scientists call this neuroplasticity, your brain’s ability to adapt, learn, and change throughout your life.

Research has found that dance can improve memory, attention, balance, processing speed, and overall cognitive function because it challenges the brain and body at the same time.

One of the most fascinating findings?

A long-term study of older adults found that dancing was associated with a significantly lower risk of dementia than many other physical activities. Researchers believe that’s because dance combines physical movement, mental challenge, decision-making, memory, rhythm, and social connection all at once.

Think about that.

You’re not just moving your body.

You’re training your attention.

You’re challenging your brain.

You’re creating new patterns.

And maybe most importantly…

You’re giving yourself permission to fully arrive in the moment you’re living.

In a world constantly pulling for your attention, tap dance gently brings it back.

To this sound.

To this step.

To this breath.

To where your feet are.

And if this resonated with you, save it for the next time life feels overwhelming and you need a reminder that sometimes the fastest way back to yourself is through movement.
