**Did you know we have our very own allotment?**
One of the things that sets our nursery apart is that we have our very own allotment plot at Middletown Allotments in Skipton.
When we took on the plot a year and a half ago, it was completely derelict and in need of a huge amount of work. Since then, we have been busy transforming it into a wonderful outdoor space where our children can explore, learn and discover the joy of growing their own fruit and vegetables.
We have cleared the plot, installed brand-new fencing, seeded new grass and planted an array of fruit and vegetables. It has been a real labour of love, and it has been wonderful to see the transformation taking place over the past 18 months.
A very special thank you must go to our incredible Chair of Governors, Gill, who has been a driving force behind getting this huge plot up and running. Her enthusiasm, commitment and hard work have been invaluable.
Yesterday, our staff enjoyed an outing to the allotment and we were delighted to discover just how much is growing. From fruit and vegetables to all the signs of a thriving outdoor space, it was fantastic to see the results of all the hard work that has gone into bringing the allotment back to life.
We are incredibly proud of what we have created and cannot wait for our children to make the most of this special space — getting their hands dirty, learning where food comes from and experiencing the wonderful process of planting, growing and harvesting.
