🚨 PERSONAL LICENCE HOLDERS & LICENSED PREMISES MANAGERS (SCOTLAND) 🚨

Please make sure you know your renewal and refresher training deadlines.

✅ 5-Year Refresher Training
You must complete your refresher training before your deadline date. Once completed, you have 3 months to submit your training certificate and required paperwork to your Licensing Board.

✅ 10-Year Personal Licence Renewal
You must complete the required training and submit your renewal application at least 3 months before your licence expiry date. Waiting until the expiry date may mean you are unable to renew and could be required to apply for a new personal licence.

⚠️ Licensed Premises Managers
If your personal licence ceases to be valid, you can no longer act as a Licensed Premises Manager. Premises should ensure that their nominated Premise Licence Manager always holds a valid personal licence to avoid potential licensing issues.
If you have no other Personal Licence Holders on the premises to temporarily take over if your own licence expires, you cannot sell alcohol until you receive your new licence.

Don't leave it until the last minute - check your licence dates now and make sure all training and paperwork are completed in time.

DON’T DELAY — IF YOUR LICENCE IS DUE FOR RENEWAL, NOW IS THE TIME TO COMPLETE YOUR TRAINING!

If you are due your 5-year refresher training between December 2026 to February 2027, you should be completing your training now to allow enough time to apply to the Licensing Board for renewal.

Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders

The course provides the knowledge and qualification required to apply for a Personal Licence to sell alcohol in Scotland.

Our fully REHIS-accredited course covers essential areas including the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, legal responsibilities, prevention of alcohol misuse and more.

Another happy achiever- This time its Owen Howie of The Tolbooth, Stonehaven. Owen first completed his level 5 in 2024, then with the support of his employer, and a lot of hard work by Owen, he has now completed his L6 MA Diploma in Professional Cookery. He was congratulated yesterday by his Colleague Bryan Simpson-Few. Big congratulations Owen, and we wish you well for the future.
