One complaint I hear so often. I can't switch my mind off. That my loves is the human condition so let's stop fighting nature and figure out a meditation habit that works for you and your lifestyle.
Mala Meditation
Mala are a string of 108 beads but any beads will do. I often wear a rose quartz bracelet for this practice on the go. Touch each bead in turn and choose to take a slow breath or repeat an affirmation like "I am calm" with each one. Your brain calms with repetition and focusing on the object is much easier for a chatty brain.Using a mala gives your mind something to touch and focus on.
Walking Meditation
Slow your pace, remove the headphones and pay attention to the sensations in your feet, legs, and breath.
Walking mindfully regulates the vagus nerve, which supports digestion, mood, and relaxation.
Perfect for busy days when sitting still feels impossible.
Body Scan
Lie down or sit comfortably, then move your awareness through the body from head to toe.
Notice each area without judgement to help reduce muscle tension. I also like to practice Progressive Muscle Relaxation where you squeeze each body part on an inhale and relax on an exhale.
Share this with a friend who needs a few helpful hints to switch off that busy brain.
