In Year 3 we have loved our practical lesson about plants and how they take up their water.
We have made our predictions and set up our experiment to see if our flowers will transport water although we have changed a variety of variables. I wonder which will be the quickest? Letβs hope for blue petals! π€

FINAL UPDATE ABOUT HEDGY xXx
Hi everyone,
I want to take a moment to address the recent incident involving Hedgy the hedgehog that was brought into our care and sadly later died.
First of all, this has been incredibly upsetting for everyone involved. Anyone who works in animal rescue does so because they deeply care about protecting vulnerable wildlife, and seeing any animal suffer is heartbreaking. This situation has taken a significant emotional toll on everyone involved. Time and resources that would normally be spent saving and rehabilitating vulnerable hedgehogs have instead been diverted into dealing with this incident and the reaction surrounding it. All admin, assessments, treatments, etc falls on my shoulders alone, and the weight is crushing right now.
A number of individuals have been identified and are actively cooperating with the police. The matter has been reported properly, and we now need to allow the police, parents, and relevant authorities to establish the facts calmly and appropriately. Please refrain from naming individuals, sharing rumours, or encouraging harassment.
While emotions are understandably high, we must not respond with hatred, threats, or online abuse β especially when children are involved. Whatever the circumstances may ultimately prove to be, intimidation, public shaming, and hateful comments do not help animals, do not help the investigation, and do not help our community. No child is shaped into a better person through fear or public humiliation, but through guidance, accountability, compassion, and love. For this reason, I will be turning off all comments across the posts about Hedge effective immediately.
We must allow the appropriate people to deal with it properly, and as a community, begin to move forward constructively and compassionately. If there is one positive thing that can come from this tragic situation, I hope it is a wider conversation about teaching children empathy, respect for wildlife, and the importance of kindness toward all living creatures.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the rescue respectfully and compassionately. Your concern for wildlif means a great deal.
Please, letβs move forward with calmness, dignity, and humanity.

With kindest regards,
Kelly
