Our Early Years Education, Electrical, Hairdressing and Motor Vehicle students have landed safely in Valencia for their two-week industry placement and have settled in brilliantly 😊

Early Years students are in a school setting, working with a wide range of age groups, supporting lessons, activities and the curriculum. They’re doing brilliantly getting to know the children and are enjoying preparing for the school festival on Friday.

Our Hairdressing students are working alongside salon owners, learning new skills and tips on how to perfect an up-do, as well as styling, washing and blow-drying hair. Electrical students are participating in a workshop, focusing on learning new skills and will be visiting workplaces in the next few days. It's been great for our students to enjoy some down-time with their tutors Stephen and Megan at the burger festival, as well as cheer England on in the World Cup! ⚽😄

Alfie, one of our current Digital T Level students and an alumni of Lathom High School has his sights set on furthering his studies at University, expanding on his skills that he's been focusing on 😊

When asked about studying the course, he said, "I've enjoyed it a lot and it's been great doing work experience at Hotter Shoes, as I've been given an insight into what employment life is like. I was given the opportunity to expand my digital knowledge further by attending an extra class on a Wednesday afternoon and I'm glad I have, because I've now learnt how different industries use digital software."

We celebrated our college leavers on Thursday afternoon, presenting them with their NCG Guarantee and Microsoft Office certificates, a WLC leavers hoodie and an alumni badge.

To our returning students, we look forward to welcoming you back to campus in September, and we are excited to greet our new cohort of students! ♥️

Motor Vehicle students had a brilliant time at TeamSport Karting earlier this week to celebrate the end of the academic year! 🏎️😀

They learned the important safety rules, including how to use protective gear correctly, understand track flags and signals, and follow marshal instructions. They also developed key driving skills such as smooth steering, controlled braking and acceleration, choosing the best racing line, and maintaining safe distances from others, while improving their focus, reaction times, and awareness of surroundings. Above all, they all enjoyed the activity and found it a fun, practical way to build confidence and responsibility.

It was a triple celebration last week as our Early Years Education, Sports, and Uniformed Public Services students all travelled to Blackpool for their end-of-year trip! 🥰

Our Sports and Uniformed Public Services students had a brilliant time celebrating their academic year at Wild Shore Blackpool, taking part in the aqua park and trying out the giant stand-up paddleboard. Meanwhile, our Early Years Education students visited Pleasure Beach Resort for countless rollercoaster rides! 🎢 A great day was had by everyone.
