There will be a partial solar eclipse this morning around 10:10am. If it clouds over, the Royal Observatory Greenwich will be live streaming the event.

Tomorrow at 13:33 BST (12:33 GMT) the first flight (uncrewed) of the Artemis missions will launch from
Kennedy Space Centre. It is the dawn of a new era, one that will see us establish a permanent presence on the Moon and beyond.
Join me tomorrow as I cover this historic moment live with BBC One and BBC News. A launch day is always exciting but this one is pretty special - I cannot wait 🚀.

ESA will provide the vital service module for , supplying power, propulsion & life support for the crewed missions of the future.

*Perseids Meteor Shower*

The best time to see the Perseids this year is late tomorrow night (Friday 12th) or early Saturday morning.
Unfortunately, there’s also a full moon this year at the same time, so viewing conditions won’t be as good as they could be and you won’t be able to see as many as normally. Only the really bright meteors will be visible. Dark, clear skies are always best for seeing meteors which we’ll have plenty of over the next two nights so that does give us some hope!

Despite the peak being tomorrow, tonight and Saturday night will also be good opportunities to spot meteors.
