🎤 🎭 Magdalen’s Got Talent 2026 - What a Show!

Our annual Magdalen’s Got Talent show was a huge success once again, showcasing the incredible talents, confidence and creativity of our pupils.

From fantastic singing and energetic dancing to hilarious jokes and mind-blowing magic, the audience was treated to an unforgettable morning of entertainment.

A special highlight was a wonderful post-show singing interlude from our amazing Year 5 class, who performed a brilliant David Bowie medley. The morning was then brought to a close with a surprise drum performance from our very own Miss Adams!

Congratulations to all of our finalists for having the confidence to take to the stage, and a huge well done to our overall winners. We are incredibly proud of every child who took part and helped make the event such a memorable celebration of talent. 💙

We have had an incredible musical celebration! 🥁✨

We believe that music plays an important role in a broad and enriching education, and every year our Year 3 pupils have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument as part of their curriculum. 🎶

We feel so fortunate to have welcomed the Lincolnshire Music Service into school this term, giving our children the opportunity to explore the vibrant world of Djembe drumming. Over the past few weeks, pupils have developed fantastic skills – learning different striking techniques to create a range of sounds, experimenting with body percussion, and enthusiastically taking part in call-and-response sessions with Mr Egerton.

The grand finale concert was truly something special. With the whole school, parents and governors in attendance, the hall was alive with the powerful, rhythmic sounds of the drums – a performance full of energy, teamwork and joy. We are incredibly proud of every single child for their confidence and commitment. 🌟

Opportunities like this really bring learning to life and create memories that last a lifetime.

Our Year 1 and Year 2 children have had a fantastic end of year adventure! 🐾🌿

Our trip to The Ark linked beautifully with our learning around the story ‘Class 2 at the Zoo’.
The day was packed with exciting experiences and real-life connections to our classroom learning.

In the morning, we visited the snakes and wondered if one might “open his eye, to spy on Class 2 at the Zoo!” 🐍👀
The children loved spotting different animals and even got to meet the resident skunk!

One of the highlights of the day was feeding the goats 🐐.
Some of us felt a little apprehensive at first, but showed great courage and everyone gave it a go. Well done, everyone!

We were incredibly proud of all the children. Their behaviour was exemplary throughout, and staff at The Ark commented on how polite and well-behaved they were, even inviting us back again in the future… perhaps next time we’ll be feeding the wildcats!

We love providing opportunities like this to bring learning to life and create lasting memories for our pupils. 💚

It’s such a special time of year as we prepare our children for their next exciting step! 🌟

Throughout our transition activities, pupils have been building confidence, making new connections, and getting ready to move up to their new year groups in September. From meeting new teachers to exploring new classrooms, everyone has embraced the opportunities ahead with enthusiasm and positivity.

A particular highlight has been our Year 6 children taking time to write thoughtful letters to their younger selves. ✍️❤️

Reflecting on their primary school journey, they shared advice, memories, achievements and words of encouragement, showcasing just how much they have grown during their time with us. We are incredibly proud of the mature, reflective young people they have become.

What an amazing day our Year 3 children had yesterday on their visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster! 🦒🐾

The day began with an exciting education session, “Aren’t Animals Amazing?”, where the children explored some truly fascinating aspects of animal life. They were incredibly brave and curious, getting up close to a rhino skull, feeling camel fur, and even touching a snake, hissing cockroaches and African land snails! 🐍🐌 Even the adults got involved holding a snake!

In the afternoon, the adventure continued as the children explored the park and saw a wide range of animals, including giraffes (Miss Abbott’s favourite! 🦒), rhinos, tigers, meerkats, lemurs and capybara - the clear favourite among the children!

We are so proud of how beautifully the children represented the school. They showed kindness, curiosity and excellent behaviour throughout, and were a real credit to our school community. ⭐

🌾🚜 Year 6 Farm Visit to Claxby Grange 🚜🌾

Our Year 6 children had an incredible day visiting Claxby Grange Farm, where they enjoyed a truly hands-on learning experience in the great outdoors!

A huge thank you to Farmer Andrew, who was absolutely brilliant and shared a wealth of knowledge with the children. They explored the wheat fields and even discovered that the wheat grown on the farm is used by Warburtons 🍞- a fascinating real-life link to the food we enjoy every day!

The children were lucky enough to tour the grounds, learn about different crop growth, and visit the farm sheds to see the impressive machinery needed to keep everything running smoothly. 🚜✨

We are also incredibly grateful to for organising yet another fantastic visit, helping our pupils deepen their understanding of food, sustainability, and farming in such an engaging way. 🌱

Experiences like this truly bring learning to life, and we are so proud of how our pupils represented the school throughout the day!

We LOVE phonics!

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate another wonderful achievement, this time in our Year 1 cohort! 📚✨

This year, 88% of our children passed the Phonics Screening Check, which is significantly above last year’s national average of 80% – a fantastic result! 👏

At the Wainfleet Magdalen, we are committed to supporting every learner to succeed. Through relentless tutoring, high expectations, and a belief that every child can achieve, we ensure no one is left behind. We are incredibly proud of all of our children - not just for the results, but for the huge progress each and every one of them has made on their early reading journey. 💙
