Beacon Easter Bonnet/Hat Parade!
Beacon are holding an Easter bonnet parade on Thursday the 2nd of April. Please decorate an Easter Bonnet/Hat and bring it to school with your name on, no later than Wednesday 1st of April.
We will have our parade on Thursday, and we will be giving out some prizes for 1st/2nd/3rd in EYFS/KS1 and KS2.
We can't wait to see the children's creative designs!

Our Brass Club were playing lots of new music tonight and sounded amazing! We've learned that 'p' means to play quietly, a 'staccato' dot means detached and we learned how to count longer notes that are 'tied' together, needing lots of breath! We even learned that a 'glissando' is a slide between notes which is really fun to do on our pbuzzes! After our pbuzz warm up exercises, our favourite tunes include The Spider, Be Great, Pot Noodle and Dobbie Donkey. Thank you Sheets4Brass for your super online tunes!

We've had a super morning learning about wind farms with Sarah from Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind, applying our Science skills in a fun activity. Children will also be bringing home a windmill of their own to make at home!

Y5 had their first whole class instrumental lesson today, learning how to play the recorder and read music. They learned how to create a soft, gentle note G and how to read and play minims and crotchets which are 2 beat and 1 beat notes.

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to those who have supported us with raising money for Beacon!

Recently, this has included our Spring Disco, our Christmas Fair and our Halloween Disco, where we have raised a huge amount of money that will be going towards, among other things, developing our OPAL lunchtime resources for the children. We have also been kindly donated a number of prizes for these events which has helped us to raise even more money. Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated, and everyone who has come along to, or bought tickets for these events.

We are grateful as well to our incredible PTFA, who help us to organise and run these events, thank you so much for your help and support!
