Tuesday at The Willows....
We’ve had another lovely day filled with friendship, conversation, laughter and lots of different activities.
As everyone arrived, we enjoyed a cuppa and a chat before talking about events from this day in history. These conversations are a wonderful way to encourage memories, stimulate the mind and give everyone the opportunity to share their own experiences.
We then discovered some amazing animal facts! Did you know an octopus has nine brains? One main brain and one in each of its eight arms! Learning and chatting about interesting facts helps keep conversations flowing and encourages curiosity.
Our morning activities included Matching Pairs, a quiz mat game and card bingo. These games provide gentle mental stimulation while also encouraging concentration, memory, decision-making and hand-eye coordination — all while having fun together!
After lunch, we enjoyed some mindful colouring and wordsearch giving everyone a chance to relax and concentrate at their own pace. We then finished the afternoon with bagatelle and dominoes, encouraging coordination, counting, problem-solving and a little friendly competition!
It’s not just about the activities themselves — it’s about being together, having a purpose, sharing laughter and enjoying one another’s company.
Lunch today:
Onion & potato soup
Chicken pie, new potatoes and peas
Devonshire Roll & custard
