Borden Grammar School is a selective Boys Grammar School with Academy status situated in the centre

Borden Grammar School is a selective boys grammar school with academy status situated in the centre of Sittingbourne, Kent, England which educates students aged 11–18. Whilst the school mainly admits boys, a small number girls have been educated at the school within the Sixth Form. The school holds specialist status in both Sports and Modern Foreign Languages. The school has a Latin motto, nitere porro which translates as "to strive forward".

Poetry in motion (and memory!) 📜✨

On Thursday 1st October, our students stepped up to a brilliant challenge for National Poetry Day: learn a poem by heart and recite it live to their form!

Standing up and performing in front of your peers takes serious courage, but our students completely blew us away with their dedication, talent, and incredible recall. Every single student who successfully recited their poem earned 10 house points, and so many achieved it that we awarded nearly 700 house points across the school! 🏆👏

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, learned a verse, and represented their house with pride.

A quick reminder that tomorrow is the deadline to purchase tokens for our upcoming Charity Week during the last week of term.

🎟️ Why do students need tokens?
Tokens are required to participate in ALL Charity Week events, including our Non-Uniform Day on the final day of term!

👉 What to do next:
Please check the Charity Week schedule that was sent to you via email with your child and head to Scopay to purchase enough tokens to cover every event they’d like to join, if you haven’t already!

🎉 WE NEED YOUR HELP! LOCAL BUSINESSES & PRIZE DONORS WANTED! 🎉

The Borden Grammar School Council is gearing up for Charity Week from Monday 12th to Friday 16th October, and we are actively seeking raffle prize donations to make our student raffle a massive success!

Whether it is a physical item, a gift voucher, or a unique experience, your generous contribution will support five incredible causes: Cancer Research UK, MenTalkUK, Anthony Nolan, British Heart Foundation, and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Funds will also go towards resurfacing our school's multi use sports area.

Physical prizes can be collected by our team or dropped off by Friday 16th October. To show our gratitude, we will be publicly featuring and thanking every supporting business across our social media channels!
