Just what was needed last night… a couple of hours life drawing over at with 👌🏻 Thank you John for organising this amazing local group. It’s always such a pleasure, everyone is so friendly and it’s lovely to chat and share the experience! absolutely lovely to draw as always! Make sure you go and give Johns page a follow and pop along! We love that we’re creating spaces for people to come and spend some much needed quality time for themselves, to try something new, to share a love for their art and making life drawing more accessible to our area! There’s so much joy to be had! 🤩😁♥️

As promised! A bit more info on what I have planned for Mini Picassos (preschoolers) this Easter holidays! You can see more about my Little Picassos workshop (5+) in a separate post!

Open ended process art… lots of sensory experiences with a loose spring theme! Open ended means your little one can find their own value & happiness following their own creative interests! Materials and set up will have ideas and prompts but they are welcome to freely explore!! In my experience and from our own enjoyment at home and playgroups over the years, I always find this to be the most fulfilling and exciting! I can’t wait to see what they do!

There will be…

A very large floor canvas, you can try drawing around hands and feet (or entire bodies?!), filling the shapes with flower paint printing or hammering perhaps? Feel free to cut out our child’s corner of art and take home! ♥️

A large upright canvas/surface area to work on… use the coloured spray bottles to create a spring scene perhaps? Or maybe lay down and foot print on to it? You can even use flowers as paint brushes??

Natural play dough… use some of the materials around you to add colour & texture. Make your own dough canvas! Create whatever your little heart desires! Maybe shape into eggs or use the cutters? Maybe press petals, leaves & sticks into the surface and see what happens? Perhaps you can roll it out and make hand and foot prints in it?

I still have spaces for this workshop that I would love to fill so I can share with more of you!!

Thank you so much to everyone who came for my first Brunch & Sketch meet up at yesterday! So lovely to chat with you all and in your own words do something different or get back to something you’ve always enjoyed! Lovely drawings, all so different!

Yummy brunch as always thank you for mine 😋 and the kids all enjoyed themselves too… my youngest was a handful 😆 Let me know if you wanted to come but couldn’t make it, hoping to hold once or twice a month? This is a free meet up for the local community, everyone welcome!

Next up this month after the brunch & sketch this weekend is my Still Life drawing workshop back by popular demand! This was the first one I ran in January and It was so lovely to share it with so many of you!

This time it’ll have a bit of a spring theme and I’ve been adding to the art materials for you to use too 🤩🙌🏻

As always with my workshops and meet ups, there’s absolutely no pressure here! You don’t need to have done this before, you don’t need to be an artist… you may be and that’s great too! 😁 But it’s also about being open to try something new that brings a couple of hours of mindful time and peace to your week… drawing and using different materials to make different marks, with different sensory experiences all whilst focused on being present… this is where the magic is ✨ I’m on hand to help and tutor if you need!

£15pp all materials provided + tea/coffee and a sweet treat 👌🏻 a lovely way to end the week!

A lovely evening with over at the amazing last night 👌🏻a lovely friendly group of people and a gorgeous local venue. I find so much peace in life drawing, from the 2 minute warm ups to longer poses. Experimenting with materials not being too precious, I said I wanted more art in 2024 and so far so good! I’m creating more personally and sharing my love for creativity and its mindful benefits too… I can help you on the way to your life drawing journey with guidance at any of my workshops. Or just pop along and try your hand, see what happens?!

FREE 🤩 Sunday morning brunch & sketch meet up at in Iwade this Sunday 10am! 👌🏻☕️

Pop along to The Mews Brewhouse this Sunday morning for a nice easy hour or so brunching & sketching, just for fun! No artistic skill or experience needed! You can draw squiggles if you like! 👌🏻 ☺️ I’ll be there (probably with the kiddies)… I’ll bring some art materials & paper but bring your own if you have any too!

Sketch what you see, bring something small with you or just doodle and make marks, whatever you fancy! 😊

After seeing bring people together over art & breakfast in Maidstone 🤩👌🏻… I thought it would be something our village and local community could really benefit from too, not to mention be something I’d love to do with you! The idea is to bring more art & mindful time into the local community and create a little social space to do that! 🙌🏻♥️

Sketching & doodling is a lovely way to lose yourself for a little bit, and doing it with others with a cuppa and some yummy food… 👌🏻 perfect Sunday morning right?!

I started The Art In Me at the end of January after gauging interest amongst the local village through December… it was clear that people really wanted somewhere to go locally, something to do that was mindful and giving them uninterrupted time! 🙌🏻 I’m so so pleased with how things have been going, your support & feedback has been so encouraging and I’m really excited and happy to be slowly building this little community together!

So… here’s some dates for your diaries, workshops & meet ups this month! Keep and eye out for individual posts with more details but always message with any questions! There might be some additional things that pop up too depending on mum life, venue availability etc! 😜

A massive THANK YOU! to the lovely ladies that came to my life drawing workshop last night! It was more than that really, it was a lovely intimate group of women trying something new, enjoying some time out, sharing experiences and of course celebrating the female form with our own art! special thanks for your brilliant poses, loved your inspiring confidence and everything you bought to the group with your own stories! That really was special and made the evening! ♥️ Thank you Indy Bites for the beautiful biscuits! 😍 They went down a treat absolutely gorgeous & yummy! And thank you to the lovely Carina Sittingbourne Yoga & Lisa Hands On Massage for supporting with your kind contributions to the treat bags! 🫶🏻 Lucky ladies! 🥰 xx

✨🙌🏻INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATORY LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP🙌🏻✨🌙

So ladies… today is international women’s day, whether you’ve heard of it before, acknowledged it or it’s new to you, what better reason to celebrate all that makes us women more alike to each other than different! All of our experiences and with all of our stories, we’re pretty amazing right?! 😜

So I’d love to invite you to an evening, some time for you to celebrate yourself and the women in your lives by drawing the gorgeous who I’ve found a lovely connection with since starting The Art In Me… she has something special up her sleeve for us… taking us on a journey of womanhood that we will connect with, relate to and hopefully all come away feeling pretty damn proud to be us! ♥️

I may have a couple of extra treats in mind too… because, well, you deserve it! ✨

Drawing the female form is one of my favourite kinds of art… for me it has a spiritual connection in a way, where I go within to outwardly create on the page, the familiarity of the female body, her aura and the lines, curves, shapes, it’s so mindful and therapeutic. You don’t need to be an artist to enjoy it, you just need an open mind & heart and be willing to try new things for your sense of wellbeing! 🙌🏻

I absolutely loved drawing you and your beautiful bump Kailly ♥️ I’m looking forward to finishing it for you 🥰 … and Lisa it’s clear how much you love what you do, creating calm & relaxation 👌🏻 your hands looked like they were working some kind of magic! ✨🙌🏻
