𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫!

Tasman Class enjoyed a fantastic trip to Canterbury to explore the River Stour as part of their Rivers and Mountains Geography topic.

The visit was a great opportunity to bring their classroom learning to life, with the children using key geographical vocabulary to describe the river and identify features they had been learning about.

With lovely weather too, the children enjoyed lunchtime together at a nearby park and football pitch.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐲!

Southern Class had lots of fun rock pooling, discovering crabs (including one massive crab! ), and decorating their own rocks. After a lovely lunch by the sea, it was time to head home.

A brilliant day full of exploring, creativity and seaside adventures!

𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 & 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐍𝐀 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬!

Meds had a great time making cinnamon apple and blueberry DNA twists, inspired by our Jeans for Genes enrichment learning!

The children practised useful kitchen skills, including peeling, chopping and safe knife skills, before enjoying their freshly baked creations.

A tasty way to combine learning and cooking!

𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬!

Tasman Class had a fantastic time at our school beach hut! The children searched for crabs, collected shells and colourful sea glass, and even discovered some real shark teeth while sifting through the rocks.

They also got creative making their own ‘rock people’ using stones they had collected, before heading along the beach to admire the new seawall mural.

𝐀 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧!

Caspian Class have been exploring the world of Roald Dahl, with a focus on *The BFG*. The children created their own dreams inspired by the story and placed them inside dream jars.

They also enjoyed a trip to Beach School, making colourful windsocks and having a go at crabbing by the water.

Lots of creativity, imagination and outdoor fun!

𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧!

Mediterranean Class brought Geography to life by creating their own 3D river models! The children included and labelled key features such as the source, mouth, meanders and floodplains, before adding natural materials to bring their models to life.

The highlight was adding water and watching their rivers flow!

𝐀 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐢𝐥𝐞!

Nile Class have been immersing themselves in the wonderful world of books and stories!

The children enjoyed reading a variety of stories, creating story-inspired crafts and exploring creative, messy tuff trays.

They also enjoyed a lovely trip to our local library to discover even more books, and during their cooking lesson they made delicious “Matilda” pancakes!

What a fantastic time filled with stories, creativity and fun!

A brilliant day by the sea!

Arctic had a fantastic time crabbing, exploring the beach and getting creative with some colourful rock painting.

There were plenty of smiles, teamwork and lots of fun along the way. A wonderful day making memories together!
