📚✨ World Book Day at Goldilocks Nursery! ✨📚

What a fantastic day we’ve had celebrating World Book Day! The nursery has been full of imagination, stories and some amazing costumes. From favourite book characters to colourful crayons and playful toys, it’s been wonderful to see the children bring their favourite stories to life.

We’ve spent the day sharing stories, exploring books together and enjoying lots of book-themed fun across the rooms.

A big thank you to everyone who joined in with the costumes — the children absolutely loved it!🥳

Last Friday our nursery turned into a tiny Halloween village full of giggles, capes, sparkles, and just the right touch of spooky. The children made witches hats, friendly little ghosts, and bubbly Halloween “potions” that fizzed with imagination. We shared not-too-scary snacks that vanished faster than a ghost at sunrise. Costumes, creativity, crumbs, and the happiest chaos.

Halloween magic was truly made. 🎃✨👻

🕷️ Sign of the Week: Spider! 🕸️

It’s Happy Halloween Week at nursery, and we’re getting into the spooky spirit! 🎃 This week, our sign of the week is ‘spider’ — a fun one for little fingers to learn as we explore all things Halloween.

The children will be learning how to sign spider in Makaton, along with lots of Halloween-themed activities to spark their curiosity and creativity. From creepy-crawly crafts to pumpkin play and storytime fun, it’s going to be a week full of imagination, learning, and laughter! 👻🕷️✨

We can’t wait to see all our little pumpkins getting involved! 🧡

This week, we’ve taken a journey around the world as we explored the exciting theme of travel, holidays, and different cultures across the nursery!

🌎 The children loved role-playing a plane journey, taking turns as pilots, passengers, and cabin crew—passports and seatbelts included!
🎨 We used playdough to fill silhouettes of different countries, supporting fine motor skills while learning about geography.
🌡️ Our small world trays featured different climates and habitats, sparking imaginative play and conversations about where animals live.
🖍️ We created beautiful artwork showing the world surrounded by flags and people of different ethnicities, celebrating diversity and togetherness.
🧱 The children enjoyed copying flag patterns using LEGO and Duplo blocks, combining creativity and problem-solving.
🍴One of the highlights was trying foods from around the world—a sensory treat that encouraged curiosity and conversation.
💬 We also spent time sharing stories and experiences. One child talked about a trip to an ice cream shop, which inspired the children to recreate it in their role play—complete with scoops, cones, and happy customers!

It’s been a week full of imagination, learning, and discovery. We’re so proud of how engaged and thoughtful the children have been as we explored the amazing world we live in 🌐❤️

Happy Friday, everyone! 🎉

It's been an exciting and busy week here at Goldilocks Nursery as we prepared to celebrate Mother's Day! Each of our rooms has worked hard to organize a special Stay and Play event for the children and their special someone. 💐

In our Daddy Bear Room, the excitement was palpable as the children dove into creative activities. After crafting some lovely handmade items, one of our staff members set up a shop, giving each child a handful of coins to "purchase" their gifts. The children had a blast making their way to the shop, where they could buy cards (3p), flowers (2p), and even a tea bag (1p) — all while practicing their counting skills! It was a heartwarming experience that brought lots of smiles. 💖

In our Mummy Bear Room, the staff invited families to join in a heartwarming sunflower planting activity with their little ones! 🌻 It was such a lovely, interactive experience where children and their families worked together to nurture something special. Afterward, everyone enjoyed a delicious snack of pancakes with a variety of spreads and fresh fruits! 🥞🍓🍯 It was a perfect way to end the day, filled with smiles and memories.

In our Baby Bear Room, the little ones had a blast exploring a variety of activities! 🌸 They got to plant their own flowers and decorate them with colorful stickers, making each one unique. The children also created their very own "Best Mum" medals as a special tribute, and enjoyed exploring a Mother's Day-themed sensory tray, full of textures and fun surprises! It was a day filled with creativity and love. 💕

At Goldilocks Nursery, the safety of our children is our top priority. We're pleased to announce that our staff have completed LifeVac training, learning how to use this life-saving device in choking emergencies.
