GCSE Results Day Reminder

With GCSE Results Day just around the corner, we wanted to wish all of our Year 11 students the very best of luck. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, commitment and resilience you have shown throughout your examinations, and we look forward to celebrating your achievements with you later this week.

Results Day: Thursday 20 August 2026
Collection Time: 10:00am – 12:30pm
Results can be collected from school during this time. Senior staff will be available to offer support and guidance to any students who would like help with enrolment, sixth form, college, apprenticeships or other next steps.

Important Access Information
Please note that there is no access to the school via the pedestrian walkway by the sports hall and only very limited parking available in our car park. All students and visitors attending Results Day should enter through the side gate on Wigton Road.

If you have arranged for results to be posted or collected by another person on your behalf, please ensure the school office has received the appropriate written request in advance.

We look forward to welcoming our Year 11 students back on Thursday and sharing this important milestone with them. Good luck everyone!

Huge congratulations to our year 8s who have all passed their Cumbrian Award. They have climbed fells, navigated their own adventures, created their own local businesses and developed knowledge and an appreciation of our county. Well done everyone!

The last day is always brilliant! Quiz and Tug Of War - after a close contest, this year Franklin came out the winners, and let's not forget the staff too who were exhausted! Don't think it will be easy next year!

The day always brings out the best in the students, they are compassionate, gracious winners and losers, and make us very proud. We hope everyone has a brilliant summer holidays!

Our School Charity Day was a fantastic success, with students enthusiastically taking part in activities including a welly toss, cycling the coast to coast non-stop, guessing the number of sweets in the jar, throwing sponges at staff, and enjoying a non-uniform day.

Together, we raised over £250 for the RNLI! Silloth RNLI Lifeboat

We are incredibly fortunate to have the dedicated volunteers of the Silloth RNLI in our town. Their commitment to saving lives at sea is truly inspiring, and we were delighted to support such an important cause.

The day ended with an engaging assembly, where Emily shared insight into the incredible work of the Silloth RNLI crew, while Rosie and Alex spoke about staying safe around water. We were proud to present the RNLI with the money raised and would like to thank everyone who contributed to making the day such a success.

We ended this week with some lovely awards. Our last Top Achievers, recognising the students who have really gone above and beyond.

➕ All students have taken part in Sparx Maths homework, and it was an honour to be able to celebrate the top 3 students who have earned the most XP points! A remarkable achievement 👏

We then handed out our SLT Shining Star 🌟 this was given to Anna for showing resilience, determination and courage this academic year.

🎓 Our Headteacher award went to Logan. A total superstar who consistently puts in huge amounts of effort with a strikingly positive attitude.

We gave out the awards during our assembly, and were fortunate enough to have prizes donated by the RNLI, with the students getting waterproof phone cases and keyrings.

Finally, we want to end by recognising all our students this year, who at some point over the last 12month have all showed great character, positivity, respect and determination. We are truly proud of every single one of you 😊

❤️ Well done Solway

A fantastic day last week at the festival of work. Our Y10 students had a brilliant time getting involved in a wide range of interactive workshops, hands-on activities and engaging with employers from a variety of industries. From exploring different careers pathways to learning about apprenticeships, further education, and future opportunities, there was something to inspire everyone.

It was a brilliant opportunity to see our students asking questions, building their confidence, developing new skills, and making the most of every opportunity available to them. Their enthusiasm and positive attitude throughout the day made us incredibly proud!

A huge thank you to All Together Cumbria for organising and delivering such a well-planned, engaging event that continued to open students’ eyes to the exciting possibilities for their futures. We’d also like to thank Lakes College for being such fantastic hosts and providing and excellent venue for the event!

We look forward to returning next year!👏
