Approximately 50% of people diagnosed with one neurodivergence will likely have at least one of the others too!

- Dyslexia & ADHD: Approximately 25% to 40% of individuals diagnosed with Dyslexia also meet the criteria for ADHD, and vice versa.

- Autism (ASD) & ADHD: Between 50% and 83% of autistic individuals display significant ADHD traits or have a dual diagnosis (often termed "AuDHD").

- Dyslexia & Dyscalculia: Up to 50% of children with dyslexia also experience dyscalculia (math learning difficulties).

- Autism Overall: Broad clinical studies indicate that upwards of 80% to 95% of autistic individuals have at least one additional neurodivergent or developmental condition (including dyspraxia, ADHD, or learning differences).

Understanding phonological processing is key to understanding how we learn to read. It's the brain's ability to hear, understand, and manipulate the distinct sounds that make up our language. When this process is efficient, 'sounding out' words becomes automatic, laying the foundation for fluent reading.

Many dyslexic learners have a weakness in phonological processing which impacts their reading and spelling aquisition.
Specialist support can teach them strategies to become effctive readers and spelllers.
