🌿 We need volunteers to help create our new sensory garden! 🌿

Could you help?

This special project will create a dedicated outdoor learning and wellbeing space for our pupils, providing opportunities for learning, relaxation, exploration and play, with particular benefits for children with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The PTFA has already secured £1,000 grant funding to help with this project.

The garden will feature:

🌸 Sensory planting areas
🦋 A wildlife habitat zone
🍅 A kitchen garden
🏡 A greenhouse classroom
📚 A reading station
🎨 A sensory play area
🦶 A barefoot sensory walk



Can You Help?

📅 Saturday 5th September
🕣 9:30am – 4:30pm

Volunteers are needed to help with essential site preparation and groundwork tasks, including:

• Ground clearance and turf removal

• Digging and excavation

• Moving soil and materials

• Preparing pathways and planting areas

• General landscaping and construction support

• Skilled trades and machinery operation (for appropriately qualified volunteers)

Whether you can spare the whole day or just a few hours, your support would make a huge difference. No previous experience is necessary for many of the tasks - just enthusiasm, a willingness to help and suitable outdoor clothing.

Shrewsbury school unveils new mural celebrating inclusivity and optimism

What a fantastic day we've had at school with the brilliant Skipping Ninja! 🪢✨

It was such a joy to see our children having so much fun, challenging themselves, cheering each other on, and learning some amazing new skipping skills. The smiles, laughter, and energy throughout the day were wonderful to see, and it's safe to say everyone had an unforgettable experience!

A huge thank you to our amazing PTFA for arranging today's workshop. We are so grateful for your continued support in providing these fantastic opportunities for our children—it really does make such a difference.

✨ Our school entrance has had a wonderful transformation! ✨

A huge thank you to Anwyl Homes for their generous £900 donation, which has helped us turn an outdated mural into a vibrant celebration of inclusivity, optimism and belonging. 💛

We were also incredibly lucky to have the talented local artist Luke Jinks bring the design to life, with our pupils playing a special part in creating this lasting piece of artwork.

We’re so proud of the finished mural, which now reflects the values we want every child to see and feel as they arrive at school each day. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible!

What a fantastic morning at our St George’s and Woodfield Infant School junior parkrun takeover! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💙

It was lovely to see so many children, families and staff coming together to support such a brilliant community event. Whether you were running, volunteering or cheering from the sidelines, everyone played a part in making it such a special morning.

A huge thank you to our wonderful Woodfield & St George’s PTFA for keeping everyone fuelled with drinks, cake and refreshments, and well done to every runner—you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves! ✨
