We held the final summer pruning course of the season at the nursery yesterday. This was run in conjunction with North Wales and Borders WFGA. This was attended by professional gardeners all looking to expand their pruning knowledge. It’s great to see people taking notes and knowing what they have learnt here will be used in their work wfga_northwales_and_borders

I was at Brymbo Stori Brymbo running a summer pruning session on Saturday. They have a lovely orchard full of heritage Welsh apples and they make some lovely cider too!

We’re delighted to announce Keep Wales Tidy as our Charity of the Year for 2026-27!

Keep Wales Tidy is Wales’ leading environmental charity, working with communities across the country to protect and enhance the environment so it can be enjoyed by everyone.

As part of our partnership, we’ll be donating £1 for every Welsh variety apple tree sold throughout 2026-27, helping to support their vital work across Wales.

We’re also excited to be working with Keep Wales Tidy to develop a new range of Welsh-variety orchard tree packs, helping more people plant orchards, grow local fruit, and celebrate Wales’ rich apple heritage.

A lovely mention from Stamps & Stamps last week showcasing their stunning garden. It’s nice to know people value my advice and put their trust in my knowledge. You won’t regret waiting to plant until November time!

We’ve been watering the trees that haven’t yet been mulched. Those that are mulched still have plenty of moisture. The green manures are looking amazing. Phacelia is so beautiful and loved by bees and hoverflies. Everything is growing so well. Lush!!!

Had a lovely day yesterday at Blaise Community Garden in Bristol teaching summer pruning and bud grafting for the Orchard Project Certificate in Community Orcharding course. Thanks everyone for a great day!

First thing in the morning the top corner of the nursery is in shade. This is definitely the place to be before heading to some water for the afternoon!
