Emerald Tree Theatre

We had a great time meeting everyone at Acton Scott historic farm. There was lots of creativity from whole family's. The puppets made were fantastic we had butterflies, caterpillars, a wonderful singing flower, a speedy turbo snail, a fish, an eagle (made by a Dad), a turtle, a baby, a car, some fairies, a pumpkin, a very scary wolf, and lots more. Then the stories played in the Emerald Tree were amazing you were all a delight to watch.
We also had a good sized audience to try out our new play Alned The Fairy Prince. You all seemed to enjoy it. So we will carry on working on it. Next time I'd like to get all you talented stars to perform a show with us, using your puppets. We could make up Lots of New stories. How exciting? Here's some pictures of the scenery from the play and the only two I got from the workshop (I must take more next time). If any one would like to send me your photos of your puppets, or the play we would love to see them. Also if you make your own theatre we would love to see them too and any videos of any plays you do. We look forward to seeing them. Big thank you to Jak, at Acton Scott for inviting us and making us very welcome. It was a great venue and we definitely will be back next season.

We have written a fairy tale based on the Shropshire myth of Wild Edric who supposedly still roams the StiperStones lead mines looking for his wife and can be seen riding in the wild hunt before the out break of war! He appears in the Domesday book. He did fight against the Norman King William the conqueror but later agreed to a treaty which angered the local Saxons and Welsh. He married a fairy Queen Godda who agreed to the marriage but would leave if he ever was wild towards her. Legend also tells that a monster fish holds Wild Edric's Sword waiting for the true heir to reclaim the Sword. Edric and Godda also had a son called Aldon but nothing is known of him and this is where our story starts! Half Saxon Prince of Mercia and half fairy prince. Performance starts at 3pm we will finish puppet workshop about 2pm so we can tidy up and prepare. Entry fee to Acton Scott Farm only.

Emerald Tree Theatre Creative Shadow Workshops

We are booked to be at Acton Scott working Farm this half term Thurs 30th October. We will be doing a kids workshop making shadow puppets and then performing with some new shadow puppets in the Emerald Tree Theatre. Come join us what ever the weather.

What an inspiring journey with such great memories already. Thank you to Mat and Helen for getting married and to all the wonderful feed back, for our shadow puppet play "The Emerald Tree", that motivated us to create The Emerald Tree Theatre. Also thanks to the children, who so creatively played with the puppets and the theatre props afterwards, inspiring us to set up a workshop for kids. Also thank you to our friends and family who have supported us and helped us believe in ourselves. And thanks to our Dad for helping us build our new bigger theatre. Can't wait for our next production and workshop.
