Last chance, don’t forget - If you claim the Working Parent Entitlement for children aged 9 months to 4 years or Tax-Free Childcare don't forget to log into your childcare account and reconfirm your details are up to date. It's crucial you do this every 3 month to be able to still claim your 30 hours funded childcare. Parents signing up to receive funded childcare in April must have applied for their Childcare Choices code before the 31st August 2026. Please note that late codes can no longer be accepted.

Part of Featherbed Lane is to be resurfaced overnight from Sunday 23 to Thursday 27 August. This will take place between 8pm & 6am it won’t effect us but be mindful on drop off and collection
Part of Featherbed Lane in Shrewsbury (see map) is to be resurfaced overnight from Sunday 23 to Thursday 27 August.
🚧 Work will be carried out from 8pm to 6am each night. During these times a full road closure will be in place.
During the closures access to the work areas will be maintained for the following:
✔️ Residents living within the closure, when safe to do so.
✔️ Any businesses located within the closure, when safe.
✔️ Pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and equestrians
✔️ Emergency vehicles (blue light calls)
For all other traffic a signed diversion will be place. Depending on vehicle type, road users may be able to choose an alternative diversion route.
People are asked to ensure vehicles are not parked on the road whilst the work is in progress.
❗ This year more than 90 stretches of road across Shropshire are being resurfaced, and more than 70 have been surface dressed.

Is bedtime a battle? Is your child struggling to go to sleep and stay asleep? Our Sleep Tight workshop may be for you. This free, five week course run by our Parenting Team covers sleep issues in children of all ages with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Giving you the support you need to get bedtime back on track.
Here's what other parents say: "Absolutely fabulous workshop. Should be offered to first time parents when their babies are old enough for the skills learned to be applied. I have a disabled daughter and naively thought that the workshop wouldn't apply to her needs, well I was wrong, I believe it applies to most children and every parent can take massive positives away from this workshop! Awesome!"

The children use different flavour juice and fruit to make their ice lollies. They practice pouring and scooping the ingredients. They have also been designing a colourful tablecloth for dinner time.

🗓 In September we will be holding a new series of free Stay and Play sessions at The Lantern, Shrewsbury, our new Best Start Family Hub.
Over five sessions on Tuesday mornings from 15th September, parents and carers accompanied by their three- and four-year-olds will see how everyday interactions, routines and activities at home can support their child's educational development and learning.
See how chatting to your toddler, singing them a song, reading them a story or playing together can support their growth.
You will have the opportunity to take part in some fun play activities together, and take away ideas for activities you can do at home.
Plus, it's an opportunity to meet other parents and carers and share experience.
ℹ Find out more and book your free place at the link in bio.
