📆 There are still tickets available for the Mayor’s next fundraising event, Tastes of Asia, taking place at Smithy’s Bar, Shrewsbury Town Football Club, on Sunday 18 October from 12pm to 6pm.

🎉The event will celebrate the diverse flavours of Asia, with guests able to sample dishes from Thai, Vietnamese, Nepalese, Indian, Sri Lankan and Turkish cuisines.

💜Tickets cost £20 per person, including £10 of food and drink tokens, with profits supporting the Mayor’s four chosen charities, which includes our charity, Lingen Davies, Little Stars and Shrewsbury Town FC Foundation.

🎫Tickets are available through the Shrewsbury Town Council website, with spaces limited and early booking encouraged.

💜‘Two Pound Tuesday’, where we are asking you to donate £2 to help us deliver support to people in Shropshire who are living with mental health challenges. At the heart of Shropshire Mental Health Support charity is a simple belief: no one should have to navigate their mental health struggles alone, and we need your help to do this!

Did you know…
🎨A £2 donation could pay for craft supplies for Crafty Afty, a peer support group that runs on a Friday. This group consists of an engaging group of individuals who enjoy crafting, meet weekly to learn new skills and chat over tutorials and playful craft activities. All abilities welcome.

💚We run 8 peer support groups weekly, from two walking groups, the allotment group, The Evergreens, Men and Women’s Groups, Crafty-Afty and a drop-in. Our peer-support groups are informal, welcoming environments where peers can meet, engage respectfully, and enjoy mutual company.

📢It's that time again for 'First Friday Fiver '. We are asking you to donate £5 to help us deliver support to people in Shropshire who are living with mental health challenges. At the heart of Shropshire Mental Health Support charity is a simple belief: no one should have to navigate their mental health struggles alone, and we need your help to do this!

💜 A £5 donation could pay for tea and coffee for one evening at one of our Calmer Cafes. This weekday evening service is dedicated to providing a supportive and welcoming space for individuals navigating mental health challenges. Our sessions offer a warm and safe environment, and each session is limited to a maximum of four to six participants to ensure a comfortable and engaging experience.
💚We run Calmer Cafes in 7 different locations around Shropshire every week, so we get through lots of tea, coffee and biscuits!

🌟 Volunteers wanted! 🌟

We're looking for enthusiastic, friendly and committed people to join our team as Calmer Café volunteers.

Our Calmer Cafes which currently offer free person-centred support in Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Church Stretton, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Market Drayton, Whitchurch and Ellesmere provided a phenomenal 753 instances of support during the first 6-months of 2026.

We are so thankful to Coverage Care for donating £1,400 to our charity. The money was raised at the Be You with US event held in the summer, celebrating Diversity and Inclusion across Coverage Care homes. This donation will support local people with their mental health challenges.

Debbie Price, Chief Executive, Coverage Care Services Limited, said, “Coverage Care is incredibly proud to have raised £1,400 for Shropshire Mental Health Support through our Montgomery House Open Day. Mental health challenges can affect anyone at any stage of their lives, and it is vital that we all play our part in recognising when people need support and helping them access it. Shropshire Mental Health Support provides outstanding services to individuals and families across our communities, often at the times when they need them most. We are delighted to support their important work and would like to thank everyone who attended, donated and helped make the event such a success."
