Celebrating 10 years! 🎉

As we begin a new academic year, we're taking a moment to reflect on how far we've come over the last decade.

It all started with a phone call from an old friend and colleague, asking if I'd like to teach alongside her. That one conversation changed everything, began our journey and I will be forever grateful for it!

We started by supporting young people from the care sector, giving them the chance to flourish and gain new skills in hair and beauty. Today, we deliver full NVQ qualifications in hair, beauty, construction, vehicle maintenance, functional skills and, most recently, childcare. We are now registered with three awarding bodies and have built some wonderful partnerships, including Learning Trade Skills, which has broadened the vocational courses we can offer.

None of this would have been possible without the people who have supported us. To our amazing colleagues, who give their all every single day. To the schools who have helped us grow. And to the local authorities who trust us to deliver high-quality education. Thank you.

I'm genuinely excited to see what the next 10 years will bring. Our Post 16 offer is growing daily, and with our brand-new Pre 16 programme has this September, enabling us to support school aged learners via EOTAS packages. We have a busy and exciting time ahead as we continue to establish ourselves as one of the county's leading training providers.

✨ FROM NEVER PLAITING BEFORE… TO THIS IN ONE DAY! ✨

One of the things we love most is seeing just how much our learners can achieve when they’re given the time, patience and support to practise. ❤️

Some learners come to us having never plaited hair before, so even mastering a standard plait can take concentration, coordination, persistence and plenty of practice.

But look at the progress made in just one day! 👏🏼😍

Our learners practised different plaiting techniques, learning how to control the hair, maintain tension and create a neat, consistent finish. What might look effortless once mastered actually takes a lot of skill!

It’s a brilliant reminder that everyone has to start somewhere. With encouragement, practice and the willingness to keep trying, skills that initially feel difficult can quickly start to become achievable. 💇🏼‍♀️✨

We are so proud of the determination shown — amazing progress for just one day of learning! ❤️👏🏼

✨ CREATIVITY IN ACTION! ✨

Our Level 3 Hairdressing learners have been working on creatively dressing and styling hair — and how gorgeous is this finished look? 😍🎀

Level 3 is all about taking those core hairdressing skills and developing them further, giving learners the opportunity to experiment with different techniques, creativity and their own individual style.

From the soft curls to that gorgeous bow detail, we absolutely love the finished result! 💇🏼‍♀️✨

It’s amazing to see our learners growing in confidence and putting their own creative ideas into practice. ❤️

✂️✨ LEVEL 3 HAIRDRESSING — LOOK AT THAT FINISH! ✨✂️

Our Level 3 Hairdressing class have been busy developing and refining their skills, practising a one-length cut, blow-drying and styling — and just look at this beautiful finished result! 😍

At Level 3, it’s all about continuing to build precision, control and confidence, while perfecting those all-important finishing techniques.

From the clean one-length cut to the smooth blow-dry and soft curls, so much care and attention has gone into creating this gorgeous look. 💇🏼‍♀️✨

Practice, practice, practice is where confidence grows — and results like this show just how worthwhile it is. ❤️

One of our amazing team members, Kim, is taking on an incredible challenge by completing a charity skydive in support of Friends of Alfie Johnson! 🌟

Friends of Alfie Johnson is a wonderful local charity dedicated to raising funds for specialist equipment for children with disabilities across the Black Country, continuing the legacy of an inspirational young boy, Alfie Johnson. 💙

Kim has set herself a fundraising target of £500, and we'd love your support to help her reach it. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference to children and families who benefit from the charity's work.

🌱🪵 PLANTER UPDATE… LOOK AT THEM TAKING SHAPE! 🪵🌱

Our Ignite learners have been putting their practical skills to work, creating these fantastic planters from recycled wood as part of one of our school provisions. ♻️👏🏼

From measuring and cutting to assembling and constructing, the learners have showcased some brilliant practical skills, patience and attention to detail — and the results are really starting to speak for themselves! 🙌🏼

We love projects like this because learners can see their hard work transform into something useful, sustainable and built by them from scratch. 💚

They’ve done such a great job so far, and we can’t wait to see the finished planters! 🌿✨

Our Beauty learners have been busy practising their nail art skills, working on different designs, patterns and techniques — and we’re loving the results! 😍

From animal prints and French tips to glitter and detailed designs, sessions like these give our learners the chance to experiment, get creative and develop the precision and control needed for professional nail art. 🎨💖

It’s all about practice, confidence and finding your own creative style — and they’re doing an amazing job! 👏🏼✨

🪚🔥 FIRST ATTEMPT… AND WHAT AN ATTEMPT! 🔥🪚

One of our Ignite learners had his very first go at creating and producing joints — and the results were absolutely brilliant! 👏🏼

He did such a fantastic job that even his tutor was shocked when he found out he had never attempted this before! 🤯🙌🏼

It’s amazing to see natural ability coming through, but even better to see the concentration, patience and determination that went into getting it right. 💪🏼🪵

For a first attempt, he absolutely smashed it! 🌟
