The Martin Wilson Primary School & Early Years Centre

We made it! The last day of the summer term was a mixture of happiness and sadness. Year six were in their element as one of our lovely pupils had organised for pizzas to be delivered for one last celebration together but then we had to say goodbye to some very special people. We would like to say a huge thank you to Carol (who escaped before I could take her photo) and Mrs Matthews for all their hard work; to Miss Fowke who leaves us for London and to get married! To Mr Purslow who sends you all his love and will be remembered for enjoying dressing up more than the children and lastly to partners in crime Jo and Helena. We just can't imagine the school without them in it and they will be sorely missed. Good luck to you all!

Wrekin class have created some fantastic art! We’ve explored prehistoric cave art using mixed media. We also really enjoyed artist reference work, looking at illustrator Quentin Blake, we created continuous line drawings, experimented with water colour skills and also created clay models of well known characters. Each and every one is brilliant and we’re so proud of our hard work.

Thank you so much for everyone who came out in the heat to support us at the summer fair. It was so lovely to see you all there. We will draw the raffle and pound in a bucket on Monday... so still an opportunity to to have a go or buy a ticket. Thank you to all of you who ran a stall and gave up their time to help. We're a good team. Have a lovely weekend!

Keeping cool in Early Years this week. We had a foot spa in the garden and lots of water play. We sheltered from the sun under the trees at Forest School and had some ice pops afterwards!

🌞🌞🌞 Due to the hot weather forecast this week (22-26th June), we are allowing all pupils to attend school in either uniform or their school PE kit. This must be school PE kit including appropriate footwear (not just simply any shorts and t-shirt). Please also ensure that children have sunscreen and a hat or cap. Many thanks. 🌞🌞🌞

Haughmond loved their trip to the Flaxmill on Friday - especially the dressing up. They learned a lot too.
