🥊 Year 6 Kickboxing Taster Session! 🥊

Some of our Year 6 pupils had the exciting opportunity to take part in a kickboxing taster session last week, and they certainly impressed us!

It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, learning new skills and embracing the challenge of trying something different. At Oakmeadow, we love providing opportunities for our pupils to broaden their experiences and discover new interests and talents.

A huge thank you to Astons Kickboxing Academy for welcoming us and delivering such an engaging and enjoyable session. The enthusiasm, encouragement and expert coaching made it a memorable experience for all involved.

We have a feeling you may have inspired a few future kickboxing stars! 🌟🥊👏

Parents and carers can apply for Reception places for September 2027 in Shropshire from 2 November 2026.

🌟📚 Launch of Our Picture Book Curriculum! 📚🌟

We are delighted to have launched our new Picture Book Curriculum across the school this term! 🎉

As a whole school, we shared the inspiring story The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and explored its powerful messages together. The children made predictions, discussed the story's themes, and reflected on how they link to our school values and the importance of developing a Growth Mindset 🌱✨.
The children responded brilliantly, creating beautiful artwork, whole-school collaborative collages, drama performances and creative role-play activities.

These fantastic pieces of work were proudly showcased during our school worship, giving pupils the opportunity to celebrate their learning, creativity, and achievements. 👏💙

One of our favourite parts has been hearing the children's thoughtful reflections and seeing how they connected the story's message to their own experiences. It has been wonderful to witness such confidence, perseverance, resilience, and positive thinking in action as we begin the new school year.

What a fantastic start to our Picture Book Curriculum journey. We cannot wait to see where the next books take us!

Join us on Thursday 5th November for an evening of spectacular fireworks, fun and community spirit at school. It's always a fantastic event and we can't wait to welcome families and friends for another memorable celebration.

Oakmeadow Year 6 Cricket Team – Champions! 🏏💜
What a fantastic start to our first competition of the year! Our Year 6 Cricket Team represented Oakmeadow brilliantly at the Marches Academy Trust Varsity Tournament at Shrewsbury School and came away as champions! 🏆
The team did Oakmeadow proud, showing fantastic teamwork and representing the school wonderfully throughout the competition. A huge well done to all the other schools across the Trust who competed too, what a great event! 👏
Miss Morris is especially happy to see the trophy returning to Oakmeadow for the third year running! 🏆Well done Oakies!🥇💜
