I painted the garments in reverse order to the face: first the glaze of red ochre followed by modelling in a darker ochre.

Some of the group went partway up Sinai by camel. At the top of the zigzag steps is St Paisios’s kelli. The last leg of the climb up the steps. The chapel rebuilt in 1930’s of stones from the sixth-century basilica. .
