The Stage Door Shrewsbury offers a variety of programmes for children and adults including film making & performing arts, Dancing, Musical Theatre and Acting as well as Immersive arts module which encompasses a variety of immersive performance mediums, improvisation and even dungeons and dragons! Here at The Stage Door we recognise that different students have different needs from academy. This is why our structure directly reflects the requirements of our diverse curriculum. Sunday Main School - For ages 8 - 18. 10:30am - 2:30pm each Sunday.
4 hours of industry focussed, dynamic and engaging project driven sessions. We then rotate students around our four core subject modules - Film & Digital arts, Technical Acting, Song & Dance and Immersive Arts. Stage Door Pro (Lite) - We are currently offering a reduced version of our Pro programme to students who wish to join before the programme officially launches in the Autumn. The Pro-Lite course will see students perform with Main School in Alice in Wonderland; The Fractured Realm plus a devised exam piece themed around Pandora's Box and the Seven Deadly Sins. Pro runs from 9:30am - 2:30pm each Sunday. Stage Door Pro offers professional, part time acting & musical theatre training to students at an undergraduate and graduate level diploma. Each subject is taught by our team of outstanding professionals with expertise in their field and a wealth of industry knowledge and experience. Between our faculty we have over 40 years of industry and teaching experience. Performance opportunities:
As well as classes, each term our students will be actively working towards a variety of productions, be that in house or for public viewing. We like to ensure that students get the opportunity to deliver the skills that they develop within classes into the realms of performance and production and as such we aim to give students at least five performance opportunities over the academic year including production credits and backstage opportunities. We offer students the added extra of PAA and TRINITY exams in a variety of subjects, from musical theatre to screen acting. Stage Door Pro can be a tuition based programme or students are able to submit for a level 4 or level 6 diploma to be completed within 3 years of study.
