Delexicalised verbs, such as ‘get’, ‘have’ or ‘make’, are one of the most frequently used verbs, yet they can be difficult to remember since they have little or no meaning on their own . They must be acquired as a verb + noun collocation, which is also tricky as different languages have different collocational rules! Mastery of collocations aids natural sounding English 🇬🇧
