Our students have had a busy practical week! Focusing on pre, during and post lambing management and care of both the ewes and lambs 🐑

Lyndsey Fisher from our Planning and Development team has been speaking at at Walford College recently. From educating students in the classroom to sharing real-world insight into planning and development, it’s been a brilliant opportunity to inspire the next generation of planning professionals.

Our students had a fantastic Introduction to lambing this morning with Laura! 🤩 Invaluable knowledge and experience exchanged 🐑

GUEST SPEAKER ~ both our T-Level groups had a great session on Diversification with Lydnsey Fisher (Planning Consultant) yesterday! Thank you Halls Livestock and Machinery Sales 🌾 It was also great to see Millie Evans (Placement Student) from Harper Adams University join us, who gave us an insight into the REALM course alongside her placement year 🤩

Our Agriculture students had a fantastic day last week! 🚜

🐑 Faecal egg counting in action!

Our T-Level students got hands-on experience as our lecturer Lucy who also runs Flock & Field demonstrated this key technique for keeping sheep healthy. Real-world farming skills straight from the classroom! 🌾

Walford Agriculture Students participated in the Farm Safety Training this morning 🦺 This was a fantastic insight into the potential risks that we could encounter on a daily basis working in such a high risk industry 🧑‍🌾The key take home messages consisted of never forget the challenge ladder, and there are several support networks available at all times, it’s important we talk 💭

Our students have been busy vaccinating this week 💉 They started by analysing the data sheet in order to understand the desired outcome, dose rates, administration location and any potential withdrawal periods 📋
