🌟 A Warm Welcome to Our New Associate Teachers! 🌟

This week, we were delighted to officially welcome our newest cohort of Associate Teachers as they begin their journey into the teaching profession with 3-18 Inspiring Futures.

Following a successful induction, our trainees have completed their first two days at the University of Chester, taking their first steps in developing the knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to become outstanding teachers.

One of the highlights of the induction was being welcomed by the CEO of 3-18 Education Trust, who shared the Trust's vision and commitment to developing the next generation of teachers to make a positive difference to the lives of young people across our communities.

It has been wonderful to see such enthusiasm, dedication, and passion from the cohort already. We wish them every success as they embark on an exciting year of professional learning, school placements, and personal growth.

Thank you to our partner schools, mentors, university colleagues, and senior leaders whose support makes this journey possible.

Tomorrow marks the final day in placement schools for our incredible Associate Teachers - and what a journey it has been!

They have worked tirelessly over the year, showing resilience, commitment and a real passion for teaching. From teaching their first solo lessons to confidently leading classrooms, their growth has been truly inspiring.

They move into their final week of training — with a focus on the fun stuff - enrichment and educational visits.

Following a well‑deserved half‑term break, our Associate Teachers (Trainees) have been back in action, taking part in the final Intensive Training and Practice (ITaP) element of their course 👏

This ITaP focused on assessment and questioning – a vital part of effective classroom practice. Through purposeful questioning, teachers can check pupils’ prior knowledge, uncover misconceptions, and identify gaps in understanding, helping them adapt teaching to best support learning.

It’s been fantastic to see our trainees developing these essential skills as they prepare for the next stage of their teaching journey 🌟

🌟 This week, our Associate Teachers (Trainees) have been exploring Post‑16 education! 🌟

They’ve spent time speaking with colleagues across their placement schools to discover the fantastic activities that take place to help pupils make informed choices about their future pathways.

To deepen their understanding even further, they also visited Shrewsbury College, gaining first‑hand insight into Post‑16 teaching within their specialist subjects. A brilliant opportunity to see how young people continue their learning journey beyond secondary school!

🌟 This Week for our Associate Teachers! 🌟

Our secondary Associate Teachers (trainees) are heading into local primary schools this week to gain valuable insight into the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3.

They’ll be meeting with subject and curriculum leaders to:
✨ Develop their understanding of KS2 assessments
✨ Explore how Year 6 pupils are supported as they prepare for Year 7
✨ Build a clearer picture of what effective, smooth transition looks like

This experience will help them strengthen their practice and ensure they’re ready to support pupils through this important stage of their education. 💫
