I’ve stayed quiet for a long time, partly because I don’t want to offend people whose work or identity is tied up in this, or people for whom tracking, restriction, or calorie counting feels like control or safety.

But the truth is, some of the loudest messages in this space are still reinforcing harm.

And being loud has never been the same thing as being right.

I know many people don’t intend harm. I know a lot of this is deeply ingrained. I know food gets labelled as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ without people even noticing they’re doing it.

But we cannot ignore what is happening around us.

We are seeing more and more children struggling with eating, with their bodies, with their relationship to food.

And children are listening.

They are watching.

They are learning from what we say, and what we don’t challenge.

So yes, it matters what we normalise.

It matters that we question the fear.

It matters that we speak differently, even when it feels uncomfortable.

Because at the heart of this, I think we need to ask a very simple question:

Why are we so afraid of being fat?

And what would change if we stopped letting that fear lead the conversation?

I’m an intuitive girl, I listen to my body to help me make decisions.
But some days that harder than others.

Example:

You join a gym where you get to choose different types of classes so there will always be something that meets your mood/ intentions ✅

You then decide on times you want to go ✅

You prep everything to make sure getting out of the door is easy- this includes gym clothes, water, snacks. If you’re going at the end of the day you plan your food to ensure you WILL have enough energy and you have drank enough water ✅

And maybe you also arrange to meet somewhere there ✅

No you might not follow through everytime.

But the more you DO follow through, you’re requiring your brain to know that yes you can follow through on plans = improved self trust.

The more evidence you have that you can trust yourself to follow through, this ripples into other areas of your life

Voila!

This is what I teach, this is how I coach- you have to be in charge of this or you won’t ever take charge!
