Bettws Lifehouse at Kingsland Grange

Bettws Lifehouse at Kingsland Grange is an Independent Special School.

Everything is built around an individual's needs from the very beginning; a bespoke curriculum and timetable; a small support team; time to gain confidence and self-knowledge.

Operating as usual

What a joy to have such an important value of ours picked up on by Ofsted inspectors - we couldn't have worded it better ourselves!

Both parents and students know that wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, it's amazing to have that recognised by Ofsted too πŸ’›

We hope everyone has had a fabulous start to 2024!

If not, make sure you come and chat to us and we'll do our best to help πŸ’›

Here's what Chef Ian is cooking up for us next week 🀀

Welcome back!

It's great to have our classrooms full of pupils again - we've missed everyone!

Happy New Year - bring on 2024 πŸŽ‰

What a fantastic year 2023 has been, thank you to each and every one of you for making it so!

We can't wait to see what joys this year brings for us all, we'll see you all back at school on Thursday, January 4th.

School work and grades are important, but focusing on the foundations of life teaches our students valuable skills, as well as better equipping them for every day learning.

That's why our focus at Lifehouse isn't exam results, but preparing our pupils for every day life. Of course education is vital, but it's a lot easier to manage when we focus on making sure our pupils are in the right headspace to learn first πŸ’›

We hope you have a wonderful day and you're enjoying your break 🎁

Look at this atmospheric photo, the details are incredible! Taken by our student Iris, this picture will be part of their art portfolio.

Doesn't it just make you want to snuggle up by the fire with a cup of hot choc? β˜•

We're with you every step of the way here at Lifehouse.

This wonderful quote was taken from our Ofsted report - it really does show how much we care for our students!

A final post.... these pictures were too lovely not to share and wouldn't feel the same in January. Yesterday some students enjoyed a lovely trip to the garden centre nearby to enjoy the amazing Christmas display.

Those smiles say it all, don't they? Have a great holiday everyone and see you in January.

We hope everyone enjoys a wonderful Christmas break!

We'll see you after the Christmas holidays on Thursday, January 4th ❀️

The last day of school at KG for 2023! What a year... but we are really ending on a HIGH! Such brilliant progress for so many pupils. Parents will be enjoying some very positive end of term reports

It's an extra-happy Friday today as we've only got two days left of school before the Christmas break! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ„

Here's what Chef Ian has on the menu for the last two school days of 2023 🍽️

We would like to say a BIG thank you to 'Jason and Darran the Christmas tree guys' for donating the Christmas trees for Stars in Key Stage One and to Heath Farm Christmas trees for donating the Christmas tree in the Lower School Foyer.

A lovely, thoughtful thing to do and one the children love!

Christmas can be a time of fun... or for many others, a time of struggle and difficulty. Here at Lifehouse we like to let our pupils join in as much, or as little, as they feel comfortable with.

We challenged some of our students with this fun project - to create a snowman with paper cups! It's a great winter activity and once finished it's sure to be a winter season smile maker β˜ƒοΈ

We are all getting into the Christmas spirit this week with decorations and Christmas trees in various key places. Today we had Christmas jumpers and Christmas lunch and the judging of the best decorated window.
First place - Key Stage S3
Second place - HUB
Third place- Upper School
Forth place - Post 16

Well done everyone :-)

We had the loveliest comment from a parent during the summer holidays!

What an honour it is to be able to offer such a space and community for our pupils, it was certainly a long six weeks without everyone - and there is only this week to go until another break!

It has been a joy to have everyone back this term and to welcome new faces too.

Happy weekend everybody!

Here's what's on the menu for next week πŸ˜‹ Don't forget Chef Ian's Christmas menu will be available on Wednesday to get you in the holiday spirit! πŸŽ„β„οΈπŸŽ…

Our site boasts lots of green space and we'd be silly to not make the most of it.

Especially for our KS1 and KS2 pupils, learning starts with exploring the natural world πŸƒ

Happy Friday everyone - we hope you enjoyed opening up your advent calendars today! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ„

Here's what's on the menu for next week πŸ˜‹

Have a great weekend!

Our lower school pupils are enjoying outside learning, taking in the world and seeing first hand how the magic happens! πŸƒ

This picture was taken last term - don't worry, we're definitely wrapped up when we head outside now 🧀

We're here to support your child's passion for learning.

Maybe it's not always what's on the curriculum, but at Lifehouse if our students are enjoying learning that's the first step to a healthy relationship with education - and that is everything. It's the foundation of what we do πŸ’›

Might be worth knowing? πŸŽ…πŸŽ„πŸŽ

Dobbies Garden Centres in Shrewsbury, Telford and Wrexham are running a Quiet Santa's Grotto experience for children with additional needs on Friday 8 December.

These are pre-booked sessions, with no queuing on the day and a reduced number of families attending in each slot.

During your visit, Dobbies ensure:
- All music is off
- Twinkling lights are removed or switched off
- You can choose to have your child’s gift wrapped or not

Prior to your visit, they will email a photo of your specific Grotto to prepare children for what they will see on the day

Here's what's on the menu next week - can you believe we're nearly in December?! πŸŽ„

Have a lovely weekend everybody ❀️

We are so sorry for the loss of the four young men from the Shropshire community. Our hearts and thoughts are with their families, friends and our neighbours at Shrewsbury Colleges Group at such a difficult time ❀️

What makes you happy?

Seeing our students getting stuck in and learning skills they have real passion for - that's what makes us happy at Lifehouse πŸ’›

Here's what chef Ian is cooking up for everyone this week!

What a selection 🀀

What a way to play!

PE isn't all about running cross country and being the best at football, it's about finding what makes you feel good.

If swinging your friend around on a wooden, wheeled board makes you smile then that's what a PE lesson could look like for you at Lifehouse.

Breakfast is served 🍳

Our pupils have been cooking up the most important meal of the day, learning new skills and setting themselves up for a fantastic day at Lifehouse.

And to round off the week, here is our Rememberance Display in Lower School

Happy Friday!

Here's next week's menu πŸ‘‡
