I never imagined we'd be leading a primitive fire building workshop in the snow, in March! But what a success it was. Each participant got a fire going from foraged wood, chopped their own kindling and watched their king Alfred mushroom go up in flames. Well done to all who attended. More snaps to follow. πŸ”₯ 🌲

This week in Wilderness Therapy we have a mighty group of children setting up their own camp. After surviving last week's session in the torrential rain the sure have earned this little gift of winter sunshine. 🌳 πŸ”₯

Is there anything more relaxing than deep and meaningful chats around the fire.... and are they more therapeutic if you've started said fire with a mushroom and an ember? Thoughts?

...and into the forest we go, to loose our mind and find our soul. (John Muir) ...and here I'll stay all week to finish off my Wilderness Therapy qualification. ❀️

My summer leading a pioneering q***r backpacking program for . How healing being out on trail with q***r youth. Taking time in nature to reflect on your identity, bond with others in your community and help create the next generation of q***r leaders. They were an inspirational bunch and I can't wait to bring some of this magic back to folks in the UK.

A little snippet of summer in California leading a backpacking program for LGBTQ+ youth. I'm 36 and have never spent time in a space exclusively for q***r humans and allies before. What a refreshing experience to be out in nature exploring this concept. We're teaching wilderness/ backpacking skills just off of the Pacific Creat Trail now and tomorrow we'll hit the trail, disconnect from the world and hike. 🌲
