Something a wee bit rare. a large mountain bike. this bike would be perfect for someone returning to cycling or wants to get into to riding mountain bike trail centers

It's a German brand B.O.C - 2danger (I really wonder who names bikes)

This has been fully refurbished by our mechanics; we've replaced its chain and rear cogs. it's gear cables and brake cables have also been replaced. it comes with 24 Shimano gears, mechanical front disc brake. new brake pads on the V brakes at the rear. it's fully serviced and ready to ride

I imagine it would suit someone from 5'11 to 6 3"

🚴‍♂️🌧️ Making the most of a rainy day! 🌧️🚴‍♀️

Although today’s Bikeability session was rained off, the learning didn’t stop.

At Trackside Bikes, we’re always looking for adapted and engaging ways to help young people develop their cycling skills and road awareness. Today, we focused on teaching road priorities and decision-making through practical activities and interactive learning, helping our ASN pupils build confidence and understanding in a safe environment.

Road safety is just as important as riding skills, and it’s great to see everyone getting involved, asking questions, and developing their knowledge despite the weather.

Well done to all the pupils for their enthusiasm and effort today—we’re looking forward to getting back on the bikes soon! 🚲👏

☀️ Summer is here and our reconditioned bikes are back outside! 🚲

We’ve been very lucky to receive some amazing bike donations recently — mainly ladies’ and girls’ bikes. If anyone has any adult men’s or boys’ bikes they’d like to donate, we’d really appreciate them too!

Sorry if you’ve seen our shutters down more often lately — we’ve been busy delivering cycling and bike maintenance work in schools across North Lanarkshire.

When we haven’t been in schools, or carrying out repairs and servicing, we’ve been working hard refurbishing some fantastic bikes. Here’s a snapshot of what we currently have available:

🌿🚲 Green Health Week at Trackside Bikes 🚲🌿

This week is Green Health Week, celebrating the connection between active travel, wellbeing, sustainability, and community values that are at the heart of everything we do here at Trackside Bikes.

Over the past few months, we’ve been incredibly busy delivering our Scottish Qualifications programme across North Lanarkshire, helping young people build confidence, learn practical skills, and gain valuable experience through cycling and bike maintenance. Because of this, we haven’t managed to organise any specific Green Health Week events this year but the work has definitely continued behind the scenes!

🚲🛴 Exciting Plans for the New Academic Year! 🛴🚲

Following the success of our Bike Bus sessions, we’re excited to share that we’ll be visiting new schools across the area in small blocks throughout the new academic year! 🚴‍♀️✨

As we continue to grow, we’ll be looking for parent volunteers to help support our Bike Bus journeys and school activities. Whether you can help regularly or just now and again, your support can make a huge difference in helping more children travel actively, safely, and confidently to school. 💛

Our Bike Bus is a fun, safe, and social way for primary pupils to cycle or scoot to school alongside fully qualified cycle leaders. We also provide:

✅ Free bike and helmet loan (with advance notice)
✅ High-vis vests
✅ Bike safety checks
✅ Free breakfasts at selected sessions
✅ Access to free cycle servicing and repairs

Over the past few days, we’ve had the pleasure of training a fantastic group of young people who have successfully achieved their Bronze Velotech qualifications. 👏🚲

Through a series of work placements and hands-on mechanical skills sessions, these pupils have shown great commitment and enthusiasm while exploring alternative pathways into the cycle trade and wider circular economy opportunities.

A huge thank you to Calderhead High School, Cycle Form, and Kerr, our CDO, for their support in making this project possible.

Most importantly, thank you to all of the pupils for their hard work, positive attitude, and engagement throughout the programme you should be proud of what you’ve achieved.

We’re excited to run a similar project again next year, with the aim of creating even clearer pathways into apprenticeships, further education, and future careers in the industry. 🚴‍♂️🔧
