Doing nothing is still a decision.
Sometimes we tell ourselves we’re “waiting for the right time,” “seeing how things play out,” or “not making a decision yet.”
But here’s the truth: choosing not to act is still a choice.
When you don’t speak up, you choose silence.
When you don’t take the opportunity, you choose to stay where you are.
When you avoid the difficult conversation, you choose to let things remain unresolved.
There are moments when doing nothing is absolutely the right decision. Rest, patience, reflection and restraint all have their place.
But don’t confuse inaction with neutrality.
Every day, our choices — and our lack of choices — shape what happens next.
So ask yourself:
“If I choose not to act, am I comfortable with the outcome that choice creates?”
Because sometimes the biggest decision you make is the one you never realise you made.
