Alongside our work at Burgess Music, we’ve been busy creating a new range of live online classes for children aged 5–12, designed to make learning friendly, engaging and confidence-building.

Tim will be teaching the academic classes, while our Beginner Guitar course brings the fun Custard Time approach to learning music online. 🎶

A little look back at Abbi & Ben’s beautiful wedding at Fields Farm 🤍🎻

It was such a pleasure to play solo violin for their ceremony and drinks reception, surrounded by the most gorgeous setting and flowers.

It was also possibly one of the hottest weddings I’ve played! ☀️ By the end of the drinks reception, the heat had even left me with black fingertips from my violin strings 😂🎻

A really lovely day and such a privilege to provide the music for Abbi & Ben’s celebrations. Congratulations to you both! 🥂

Last week I had the privilege of playing solo violin for Tia and Ash’s beautiful wedding ceremony at Hintlesham Hall Golf Club.

It was a lovely afternoon, and it was a pleasure to be part of such a special day. From Can’t Help Falling in Love for the bridal entrance to Ain’t No Mountain High Enough for the couple’s joyful exit, it was wonderful to help create the soundtrack to their ceremony.

One of those moments that makes all the hard work worthwhile. 💛

Today we’re celebrating our very first certificate over on the Custard Time page, and we’d love for you to join us.

🐻🎉 Congratulations to our very first Custard Time graduate, Niamh! 🎉

We are incredibly proud of Niamh for becoming the first student to complete our Custard Time Music Theory Adventure – Grade 1: Pitch Part 1 workbook. 🌟

Niamh has worked through the activities alongside her weekly piano lessons, using the workbook to reinforce and consolidate everything she has been learning. It has been wonderful to see how quickly she has grasped the concepts of reading music and understanding how pitch works, and she is now confidently able to recognise and demonstrate these ideas on the piano.

One of our favourite moments each week has been seeing her finish the lesson with a big hug for Custard! 🐻💛

Receiving this message from Niamh’s family really made our day:

🎶 An inspiring evening in Swansea!

Today we’ve travelled to Swansea for the BBC Young Musician 2026 Quarter Final, supporting one of Joshua’s friends from Chetham’s School of Music as they take to the stage.

As music teachers, it’s always a privilege to hear young musicians performing at such an exceptional level. Events like these remind us of the dedication, resilience and passion behind every performance, and they’re a wonderful source of inspiration to bring back into our own teaching.

We wish every competitor the very best of luck over the next two evenings. We can’t wait to hear some fantastic performances! 🎼

Set in a future where rock music is banned by the all-powerful Globalsoft Corporation, two outsiders, Galileo Figaro and Scaramouche, discover the lost art of rock and roll and join a group of rebels called the Bohemians to bring music back to the world.

Featuring over 20 Queen songs including favourites such as “We are the Champions”, “Killer Queen” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” and with a witty updated script by Ben Elton it promises to be a fun filled experience of song and dance.
