Shadow Ships Launch

A new public art installation celebrating Shoreham's maritime history has been officially unveiled. The project, titled 'Shadow Ships', was launched during a community event at Coronation Green on Friday, May 15 and was attended by residents, local historians, community groups and our wonderful Year 5 children.

Created by artists Dawn Parsonage and Peter Hudson from Light Space Color, the installation features a series of metal and coloured glass silhouette sculptures representing ships and boats with historic links to Shoreham and the River Adur.

The sculptures were made using sustainable and reclaimed materials, including recycled metal and reclaimed glass, with much of the fabrication carried out in West Sussex by Littlehampton Welding.

The sixth sculpture (bottom right in the picture) named 'Ship of the Future', was designed by our Year 5 pupils who saw their creation unveiled for the first time during the event last Friday

A free booklet explaining the project and the history behind the selected ships is available at The Shoreham Centre, Shoreham Library and Marlipins Museum, as well as online.

To find out more about the project, visit https://www.adur-worthing.gov.uk/parks/find/shoreham-by-sea/coronation-green/

Our Early Years children have had a truly special experience caring for five beautiful ducklings. They were there to watch them hatch and since then have taken on the important role of looking after them- making sure they are fed, have fresh water and plenty of time to swim. The children have shown so much love, kindness and care every day. 🐥💛

Daffodil Breakfast Success!

What a wonderful morning we had at our Daffodil Breakfast with our Reception families!

The Reception children proudly paraded their fantastic spring bonnets (we saw some amazing creativity, before enjoying breakfast together with their families.

A real highlight was seeing our Year 6 pupils serving and supporting the event so brilliantly.

Spring is a season of new beginnings… we see it in our Reception children just starting their journey, and in our Year 6 children preparing for their next chapter. It felt very special to have both together in one room.

Thank you to all the families who joined us and helped create such a warm, joyful atmosphere—and a big well done to all involved. ⭐️
