This weeks topic was all about “Science and How things work”
We’ve spoken about how things move- how does a car move? How do wheels turn or doors open?
The children have participated in science experiments and explored colour mixing. - Discussing together how the experiments worked and what made them do the things they did!! The children had some amazing ideas and answers. They were asked to use descriptive words to explain how they felt about what they had witnessed during the experiments 🧪 🧫 Great use of language children 😊

With temperatures soaring this week I wanted to reassure you all that we will be taking extra precautions to keeps your children safe. We need your help too!!
Please ensure your child has:
A water bottle- we will have lots of water breaks and will keep them topped up throughout the day.
Cool lunch box- these will be bought in after drop off to keep them cool.
Sun hats are a must for the garden- we do have spares but children do
Prefer their own.
We will be providing lots of shaded areas and the gazebo will be up in the garden. We will have water trays out to paddle our feet in to help us keep cool.
There will be a safe fan in the classroom to try and keep the room as cool as possible.

IMPORTANT- Please apply suncream on your child in the morning - we will then reapply after lunch. Please check that your child’s suncream is in their bag.

This week our Topic has been all about Letters and Sounds 🎶
We really focused on the children identifying letters of their own names and working towards writing them along with the phonic sounds of those letters. They have practiced the pincer grip when holding a pencil and whether line marking on paper or formation of letters it’s all been amazing!!!The children were great, repeating the sounds as we sounded out words, oral blending of short words too!
We had fun with rhyming words and finding letters throughout the week to spell out different words.
Every single child achieved something new this week!! Big Smiles all round and that’s what it’s all about!! Happy children 😊😊😊

What a lovely first week back we’ve had at Creative Minds 😊
Our Topic this week was all about the season “Summer” ☀️
We’ve had lots of conversations about our own experiences to encourage confidence.
A focus on numbers, sequencing and rhyming words too and the children were great at finishing sentences with a rhyming word.
Lots of messy play too of course which the children always love!! 🧡
