Hyponatremia: when “more water” isn’t always better 💧🏋️
If you train hard, sweat heavily, or do long endurance sessions, sodium matters.
Hyponatremia happens when your blood sodium drops too low—often from drinking excessive amounts of plain water without replacing electrolytes.
⚠️ Watch for: headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness, muscle cramps, confusion, or unusual fatigue.
💪 For active people: hydration is about balance, not simply drinking as much water as possible. Your fluid and sodium needs can change with workout duration, sweat rate, heat, and individual factors.
🚨 Severe or rapidly developing hyponatremia can be life-threatening. If serious symptoms occur, seek urgent medical attention.
Save this for your next long workout or endurance session. 🔖
