At little Ducklings we love to visit different places within our local community to enjoy the fresh air, explore nature, stay active and have lots of fun together! 🌳😊🦆🦢🥾 Yesterday as a group we enjoyed a short walk to the canal to feed the ducks and spot other wildlife and buildings linking to our ‘where do we live’ topic.

Over the past few weeks we have welcomed Amber from Sensory Haven, for a Sensory Outreach Session! ⭐️😊

Children joined her in small groups of 3–4, giving them plenty of time and space to explore in a relaxed environment.

They enjoyed exploring our dark den and watching the sensory lights, discovering lots of different sensory toys, walking across sensory mats and of course, lots of spinning on our much loved spinny chair! 🌀✨

She then finished the morning with some 1:1 time and intensive interaction. 🌈We are looking forward to lots of sensory play in the future with the added addition of our very own sensory room….so watch this space 🙂

We pride ourselves in being a communication friendly environment using visuals to embed this practice. We enhance all our areas with labels, symbols of support, now and next boards, ‘what tidy looks like prompts and daily visual timetables to promote understanding, independence and language development, making children feel their voice matters, empowered and ready to communicative their wants and needs effectively 🗣️🐥

Due to our growing numbers of children, we’re looking for a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our lovely, small team! 🧸💛

Are you passionate about working with children and looking for a new opportunity in a friendly, nurturing nursery? 🌈✨

We’re looking for someone who:

👶 Is Level 3 qualified in Early Years/Childcare
💼 Has at least 2 years’ paid experience working in an early years setting

As a small term time only nursery, we pride ourselves on creating a warm, homely environment where children and staff feel valued. 💕

First week of September was a fun one…full of energy, exploration and new beginnings🐥🛝🧱
We’ve been super busy this week, welcoming back our returning children and settling in our new Ducklings ✏️ Our staff and children have reset over the summer break and are excited for the Autumn term full of friendships, curiosity, interaction and purposeful provision.
We hope our Summer graduates have enjoyed their first week at school🎓…We all wish you the best in your new journeys and know you’ll all be amazing! 📚💫

🎓💫✏️ This week we had our fabulous Graduation party for our children who are leaving our setting for school.. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight…It has been a pleasure to watch them grown and develop at Little Ducklings and now they are all ready for their next adventure with lots of confidence and amazing skills 📚📝 We are very proud of them and wish them all the best!! CLASS OF 2026 over and out!! 🎓

☀️🛝What a beautiful day in the glorious sunshine…we made the most of the morning shade with lots of invitation play set ups in our outdoor area. As you can see from the pictures they were a massive hit with our little ducklings 🐥 Lots of children exploring their ideas, using connecting and imaginative language in their play.
We ended the day with group games and singing with the parachute! Nursery days are happy day!! 💛

🚨🚓👮🏽‍♀️This week we was visited by the West Yorkshire police. The children enjoyed a water fight in the sunshine, using the sponges and shields, testing their running speed using the speed guns, trying on their uniform and learning through play the role of the police. At little ducklings we take a collaborative approach to community and topic learning through outings and visitors! Thank you to Jerry and his team for visiting us the children and staff had a fab day! 🚓👮‍♀️🚨
