The children enjoyed a water fight in the sunshine, using the sponges and shields, testing their running speed using the speed guns, trying on their uniform and learning through play the role of the police. ๐ŸŒผ We love being part of the Communtiy Centre here at Windhill and involving our nursery children in local sessions and events. Yesterday, the children joined in the gardening group and helped plant hanging baskets, making our community garden brighter and more welcoming for everyone ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒป We hope you admire theyโ€™re hard work next time you come along to our centre! ๐Ÿชป

๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ›โ˜€๏ธ What a lovely end to a busy term weโ€™ve had! Lots of fantastic hands on learning around planting, life cycles and growing.
All of our butterflies emerged from their cocoons this week and the children have been mesmerised watching their fluttering wings grow and develop, we enjoyed releasing them this week to start their own adventures ๐Ÿงก
We are now closed for 2 weeks until Monday the 8th of June for half term. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ
When we return we will be focusing on the world
Around us, changes and the season of Summer! Look out for changes to the role play area and more enhancements around our nursery to support these new topics! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿชด๐Ÿฆโ›ฑ๏ธ

๐Ÿซ˜๐Ÿซ›๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›Messy days are happy days ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿซ›๐Ÿซ˜ Today at Little Ducklings the children have loved exploring the messy tuff tray, scooping and pouring the beans and soil and making their own beanstalks by balancing the foam pieces as high as they could.
We are very lucky to have such dedicated practitioners who follow the Childrenโ€™s interests and plan motivational daily activities for the children to enjoy. We had lots of foamy hands, conversations and fabulous creative ideas from all ๐Ÿ™‚ See you on Monday for more fab play! ๐Ÿฆ‹

๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿž ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿ•ท๏ธThe children have loved learning all about the life cycle of a caterpillar this week. We have shared a variety of topic books during group time to support their learning and enhanced our areas to promote language, motivation and role play skills underpinning their characteristics of learning.
This week we welcomed the delivery of our very own caterpillars to watch grow in to butterflies.
At little ducklings we follow a child led approach to learning, the children have enjoyed creating bug houses using various materials in the small world areas, making fruit crumbles for the bugs in the home corner caterpillar cafe and re-telling the stories using stick puppets and props๐Ÿž๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ๐Ÿ›
