We had a monumental week at ECS Gas Training North East Ltd with regular assessments early in the week - then we had 70 students in over 3.5 days for a specialist / bespoke ‘Gas safety & awareness course’ from Vision Building Services

These are a couple of selfies of two fantastic students that completed their initial ACS qualifications, and started their new journey as qualified gas engineers! We wish them the very best and would like to congratulate them on all of their hard work!

The remainder of the week was just a ‘gas training’ blur!

We have a student that is desperate for some help! So I promised we would do what WE can, to assist in finding this bloke help!
Student is desperately needing 1 or 2 engineers to work alongside / shadow in order to build his portfolio, which is a huge & important part of his entry level gas course! The desperation is - he has a strict 2yr period to complete this entry level course - and that expires in April 2026! Significant health issues & personal problems have impacted completing this portfolio stage, but now he is good and back on track, he is extremely concerned about moving forward & completing this qualification!

Bloke is living in Crook, Co Durham - so is on the doorstep to tag along with any of our local engineers around Bishop Auckland / Newton Aycliffe / Spennymoor / Darlington etc or a bit further afield if help can be given to him.

Cooker / Boiler / Fire - fault finding observations & training over the last few weeks.

Our ‘Fully Live’ practical bay allows us to put faults on appliances + allow students to do real life tests / observations / repairs etc on a huge range of appliances - in order to gain experience & improve their skills whilst training.

Qualified experienced gas engineers wanted - to assist new ‘entry level’ students build their portfolio’s as part of their training!

You can be paid up to £1000.00 (directly by the student) for assisting them gain the knowledge & experience, building their training portfolios, as part of their qualification.

We advise students that they may need to pay £25.00+ per job - to shadow & assist a qualified gas engineer - in order to fulfil the criteria needed for their training portfolios. Portfolios are generally compiled of around 40 jobs covering installs / maintenance / service & repair of boilers / cookers & fires. So if you can assist a future engineer, help them gain knowledge & experience out in the field - then this can benefit both parties + be financially rewarding.

We have a large number of loyal helpful engineers that regularly take new students ‘under their wing’ and assist them build their portfolios without charge or in exchange for labour hours. BUT we & they are well aware that people’s time is money - so clearly explain that costs could be associated with this element of their training.

If you are able to & happy to assist with the compulsory portfolio training aspect of a new entrants course - then please get in touch, as we always have a few students seeking the qualities & expertise of good gas engineers. The financial element has been advised and would be something agreed between yourself and the student.

We are looking for a self employed / freelance / qualified ‘Trainer / Assessor’ to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive set of current gas qualifications, CAVA assessor qualification, experience training & assessing in the domestic gas industry + have great people skills.

The position will initially be ‘casual’ and as required, to support our existing team over fairly frequent busy periods. So the position is ideal for somebody who is training / assessing in other training centres across the UK. With our ongoing marketing / expansion + adding new courses to our offering, this will result in the requirement for an additional trainer / assessor for possibly up to 2-3 days a week.

My son Lewis is training hard as him & a few of his friends are doing the ‘Three Peaks Callenge’ (3 x mountain climbs in 24hrs). They have set a goal to raise £1000.00 for St Teresa’s Hospice - an awesome local charity! So far they have raised £375.00 from very generous donations.

I would like to do anything that I can - to get them to reach their fundraising target (because I am not daft or capable enough to climb 3 mountains in 24hrs).

I know money is tight for everybody - but if just a fraction of my FB friends & FB page followers donated just £1.00 - they would smash that fundraising target in the blink of an eye!
