A message to all ex-Sheringham students: exam certificate amnesty - If you have not collected your GCSE or A Level certificates, please can you contact the school as a matter of urgency to arrange collection of them.

We currently are holding certificates from 2010 – schools are only obliged to hold onto these documents for a year, after which we return them to the exam boards. Once they are with the exam boards you would have to pay £40 for each certificate to be printed. Employers and universities/colleges usually want to see all original certificates.

We will be returning all uncollected certificates to exam boards by Easter 2019.

Money for a good cause - Whilst the rest of the school strove to break records and win everlasting glory on track and field during a sizzling Sports Day, the Sixth Form rose magnificently to the twin challenges of having to raise as much money as possible for the RNLI whilst providing sufficient refreshments for the school.

Divided into two teams, the Year 12 students competed and collaborated, formed business plans, bought stock and finally flogged the lot. Between them they raised £156.42, which added to the money from the sporting matches against staff earlier in the week, totalled a wonderful £266.89 for the RNLI. Well done to everyone involved.

Revenge is Sweet and Rounder - Following Monday 16th July's sporting success, the Sixth Form challenged the staff to a rematch – but switched disciplines to rounders.

Hotly contested, and following 20-20 rules, the Sixth Form were pipped to the final base by the staff (6 ½ rounders to 9).

Congratulations to both teams (especially the victorious staff) for another exciting contest, and to the spectators who donated a fabulous £30.04 for the RNLI. This makes our contribution this week £67.25, with further fund-raising.

After a summer of so many sporting highlights, we should add the name Carrier to the likes of Kane, Trippier and Alli, as Euan scored the winning goal for the Sixth Form in their football match against the staff. The Sixth Form won 1-0.
Congratulations to both teams for a fantastic contest, and to the spectators who donated a fabulous £37.21 for the RNLI.
There will be further opportunities to support the RNLI on Thursday with the Sixth Form vs staff rounders match, and on Friday when the Sixth Form will be selling refreshments during Sports Day. Bring your money.

To the future and beyond!

Year 12 students spent the day exploring their futures and the multiple routes toward achieving their goals, in the Sixth Form Futures Day. Superbly organised by Angela Martin, the students engaged in a variety of workshops with over 16 providers, from national organisations like the NHS to local employers such as Bakers and Larners and Kinnerton. Students were also treated to talks from Sixth Form alumni about their university experience. Overall there was certainly plenty to think about.

Thank you to everyone involved, especially Angela Martin.
