Huge congratulations to our incredible Year 11 students on receiving your GCSE results today! Today we celebrate our class of 2026 and all of their achievements - a simply brilliant group of young people.

For five consecutive years, our students have achieved sustained excellence, with this year's outcomes matching last year's record-breaking performance and placing Sherburn High in the top 20% of schools nationally!

Congratulations to our A-Level Class of 2026! 🎓✨

Today, we celebrate the incredible achievements of our A-Level students on Results Day! We are immensely proud of the hard work, ambition, dedication, and resilience you have shown throughout your studies.

To all of our students taking their next steps, whether heading to university, starting an apprenticeship, entering the workforce, or taking a gap year, we wish you the absolute best of luck. You are a extraordinary group of young people, and your future is bright.

Update from Ardeche trip:

We’ve managed to get an earlier ferry and currently on track for arrival around 10am. We will ask students to update parents when we are around 30mins away. Please keep the bus park clear so the bus can park up, thank you.

Ardeche update: Yesterday students spent their afternoon at Pont d’Arc where they could swim in the river, relax on the beach and look at the incredible geographical erosion landform behind them. Team Sherburn on tour!

Team Sherburn are having a great time in the Ardeche. A tiring but rewarding 2 day river descent complete! Staff and students have completed 26km of kayaking, cliff jumping and various swimming breaks too. ☀️🏞️🛶

Our KS3 students have been involved in some World Cup activities in their library lessons for the last few weeks.

Well done to Charlie, Charlotte and Lucas who all won football goodies!

Year 10 GCSE Food Technology students had the privilege of working with Jason Morrison of .uk and . Jason spoke to them about different rices, where they are grown, their usage and also spoke about sustainability within the rice industry. He then demonstrated how to cook a risotto whilst answering students questions before supporting students to then cook their own risotto from scratch.
Students were very pleased with their end results and with their freebies Jason brought along.

Our Year 7 students had the opportunity to attend a Super League fixture between York Knights and Hull FC last night where they were able to go onto the pitch and wave the club's banner. The students enjoyed the experience and got to see a York win too!
