What a fabulous first half of the Autumn Term it has been here at Leweston Prep! From budding scientists to keen young typists, talented musicians to dedicated riders, linguists to swimmers, our children have thrown themselves into every lesson and activity with enthusiasm and curiosity.

We hope everyone has a wonderful, restful half term. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for the second half of the Autumn Term on Monday 2 November.

Enjoy the break! 🧡

This week, our Prep 5 parents joined us for a fantastic morning of space-themed fun, taking part in a carousel of out-of-this-world activities! 🪐🌟🚀

From tasting space food and creating marshmallow constellations to making space putty and designing their very own space gliders, there was plenty of creativity, curiosity and laughter along the way. ☄️👨‍🚀

The morning finished with some healthy competition as everyone put their gliders to the test to see whose could travel the furthest! 🛩️🏆

A huge thank you to all our parents for joining us for such a memorable morning of discovery, creativity and fun! 💫

Congratulations to everyone who took part in Friday’s House Cross Country! Every pupil ran brilliantly, collecting valuable points for their Houses. From our youngest runners to our oldest, the children gave it their all, showing fantastic determination and effort on the course. 💪

A huge well done too to our parents, who laced up their trainers for the 4km fun run, raising funds for ACTA2 Alliance UK. The fancy dress was incredible! 👑 Our Head, Richard Thompson, ran the whole course dressed as a king, and told us he only managed to finish thanks to the children cheering him on with such enthusiasm. Thank you, pupils, for being such a wonderful support!

Thank you also to Andy Lovell, who spoke so movingly about the work the charity is doing and the story behind it. If you would like to make a donation please visit: https://hubs.li/Q04zT7Mw0

🥇 A big well done to all our medal winners, and congratulations to our winning House, St Margaret! ❤️
The community spirit on Friday was superb, and we even had a rainbow shining above us! 🌈

Prep 2 became explorers for their recent Wow Day, discovering their Explorer names before setting off on a treasure hunt around the school grounds! Following riddles and clues from Tessa - a character from their topic book - they worked together to find their treasure, including House Points, Star Jar stars and, rather mysterious marshmallows! 🍡
The children then created their own treasure maps, staining them with coffee to give them an authentic explorer feel before adding their own designs. But what were the marshmallows for? 🤔 The children discovered the answer at Forest School, where they lit a campfire and toasted their marshmallows together! 🔥🍡

A day full of curiosity, creativity and adventure!

🚀 Prep 1 had an out-of-this-world time during their recent space-themed Wow Day!

The children arrived dressed as little astronauts and explorers, ready for a day of discovery. After Library time, they headed to Gardening to plant astronaut cress heads, while recapping the journey of a seed and what it needs to grow. 🌱

In Cookery, they made space rock cakes, with a few quickly enjoyed at break time and one or two promised for sharing at home!

Science brought another opportunity to investigate as the children made cloud dough from cornflour and conditioner, discovering how it could feel both solid and almost liquid when stretched. 🔬

After lunch, there was time for Music and Art before finishing the day with an alien treasure hunt.
A wonderful day of curiosity, creativity and exploration – and a lovely reminder that at Leweston, a new adventure really can happen every day. ✨

Reception Class had a wonderful time in the Enchanted Woods yesterday for their Forest School session. 🌳🍂

Each child was given a ball of clay to mould with their hands, creating their very own character using natural objects they discovered around the woods. 🧚‍♀️🍃

They did a superb job hunting for different treasures, exploring their surroundings and getting creative with what nature had to offer. It was wonderful to see their imaginations come to life as they learned, explored and enjoyed another adventure outdoors. 💚

Because sometimes, some of the most important lessons happen outdoors. 🌿

What if school felt more like an adventure? 🎒

At Leweston Prep, learning starts with curiosity.
A question that leads beyond the lesson plan. An idea explored in the woods. A debate that changes a mind. A challenge that doesn't quite go to plan — and the chance to try again.

With 50 acres to explore, children have space to investigate, get muddy, ask questions and discover what they're capable of. Because childhood shouldn't just be about preparing for the future. It should be an adventure along the way.

👀 Come and see what that looks like for yourself.

World Teachers’ Day | Thank you 💙
There are far too many of our wonderful teaching staff to fit into one reel — but that’s because there are so many people making a difference at Leweston every day.
Our teachers take the time to know each pupil as an individual — their name, their nature and their potential — and work tirelessly to bring out the very best in them.
And it doesn’t stop at the classroom. From our academic and sports staff to our peripatetic music teachers, riding instructors and pentathlon coaches, our pupils are supported and inspired by people who help them discover what they’re capable of.

Because the result isn’t a type. It’s a person.
Thank you to every one of you for helping our pupils become confident, capable and entirely themselves.

Happy World Teachers’ Day!
