Congratulations to our Upper Sixth students on their outstanding A Level results today, with 98% securing their chosen university. With a record number of students securing places at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities, you have very exciting futures ahead, and we are so proud of you all. Remember, you will always be part of the Halliford community.
'Following our outstanding ISI report earlier this year, which singled out the superb progress made by each individual student, I am thrilled to see the best A Level results in the school's history. At Halliford, our ethos has always been to celebrate individual success and personal growth rather than focus purely on examination statistics, and the outstanding value-added outcomes and university successes announced today are a real testament to our personalised approach. Our aim has always been to nurture the young people the future so badly needs, and our Upper Sixth leavers are truly exceptional young people ready to become outstanding leaders in whatever field they choose, while remaining warm-hearted individuals who will go on to make a real difference in the world. We are so proud of each of them.' - Mr Davies, Headmaster
We are very pleased to launch our new school video, 'Halliford People II' which is a true celebration of what it means to be a Hallifordian, and a wonderful sequel to our first video.
"Come as you are. Go as all you can be."

It was a pleasure to welcome an Old Hallifordian parent back to Halliford yesterday, who generously donated this stunning painting of the School by Shepperton artist George Patient. She also donated this painting of Thamesfield Mews, just along Russell Road, a moment's walk from Halliford, also by George Patient. She was delighted to tour the school and see how much has changed since her son attended Halliford.

Following a very successful recruitment process, the Governors of Halliford School are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Richard Amlot, who will take up the position of Headmaster in January 2027.
Mr Amlot is currently Deputy Head and Designated Safeguarding Lead at King’s College School, Wimbledon, and brings 25 years of experience as an English teacher and school leader across both the maintained and independent sectors. Prior to this, he held a number of senior roles at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School, including Deputy Head (Pastoral) and Head of Sixth Form. Across his career, he has developed systems to support student wellbeing, progress, and engagement, led significant improvements in teaching and learning, and strengthened university admissions processes.
In addition to his leadership roles, Mr Amlot is a Team Inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate and serves as a Governor in both the state and independent sectors. He writes regularly for educational publications and speaks at conferences, contributing to wider professional dialogue about the future of education. A passionate advocate for an education that nurtures identity, purpose, character, and future-ready skills, he brings a clear and thoughtful vision to his work.
Mr Amlot read Theology at Mansfield College, Oxford, before completing his PGCE at Homerton College, Cambridge. He is married to Belita, and they have two children. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, running, theatre, windsurfing and skiing.
He has spoken warmly of the strong sense of community, the quality of relationships, and the individualised care he observed during his visits to the school. He regards his appointment as a great privilege and very much looks forward to getting to know all students, staff, and parents.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Amlot said:
“It is a tremendous privilege to have been appointed as the next Headmaster of Halliford School. On my visits thus far, I have been inspired by the strong sense of community, the quality of relationships, and the personalised care shown to each student. I greatly look forward to getting to know students, staff and parents in the months ahead, and to leading the school in its next chapter.”
Between now and January 2027, Mr Amlot will work closely with the Governing Body, Dr Sachania, our Interim Headmaster, as well as all senior leaders to ensure a smooth transition.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to James Davies for his outstanding service and commitment over the past nine years. His leadership has helped to shape and strengthen the school, leaving a lasting legacy and firm foundations for the future. We wish him every success and happiness as he moves to take the Headship at Wells Cathedral School.
At the same time, we are delighted to welcome Mr Amlot as our new Headmaster. We look forward to his leadership as he builds on the strong foundations established by James. We are confident that the school will go from strength to strength under his direction. Please join us in warmly welcoming Richard to Halliford School.

It was a joy to welcome back Old Hallifordian Cameron to Halliford yesterday. He was in Shepperton to watch the MCC Cricket and popped by to collect his amazing cricket bat table, which he designed as part of his Design & Technology A Level. Now working on a very successful e-commerce business with two fellow Hallifordians, it was a pleasure to see them all, and we wish them all the very best with their venture.
