I need my pain, it makes me who I am.
We all bear scars.
Some that you may see, others you cannot.
Scars remind us of painful experiences and how far we've come.
Pain is important in martial arts.
How we evade it, how we succumb to it, how we deal with it, how we transcend it.
Pain is not the enemy.
For without your pain and scars – you are not you.

SECRETS

The novice hunts for secrets,
rare forms, hidden methods, shortcuts to mastery.
But the path reveals no tricks,
only sweat, patience, and repetition.
Train long enough, and secrets appear.
Not whispered by masters,
but awakened within.
The deepest teachings are self-secret.
They cannot be given, only earned.
Even truth, told too soon, is noise.
When the student is ready,
the lesson speaks.
And the right word at the right time…
is gold.

The staff is called the grandfather of all weapons – plain as wood, yet deep as the Way. In its length, the body learns distance; in its weight, the hands learn truth. He who trains the staff early plants roots before branches, and so his art does not wither in the storm.
