After 10 years as the CEO of BEST, Dr Alan Lee has announced that he will retire at Easter 2027.

Under the inspiring and unique leadership of Dr Alan Lee, who was also the founder of BEST, our trust has grown into a thriving family of 11 schools and 5 nurseries.

It has been wonderful to welcome back staff this week, as schools across the trust held INSET training days.

Dr Alan Lee, CEO, Alison Wilshaw, Director of Education and Deputy CEO, and Mark Liddiard, COO, visited our schools, which were buzzing with enthusiasm, energy and fresh ideas.
We were proud to share the reflections of 10 Years of BEST, whilst also looking ahead to the next ten!

As everyone looks forward to opening the doors to students in the coming days, 2026-27 is a time for us to focus on gratitude, success and optimism ⭐

It has been a fabulous day celebrating GCSE results at four of our BEST schools. Many congratulations to all at Castle Newnham All-Through School, Samuel Whitbread Academy, Etonbury Academy and Pix Brook Academy, who made history today with their first ever set of GCSE results!

BEST Wellbeing Week, Day 5 - GIVE 🫶

Today is the final day celebrating Wellbeing Week 2026 and a day to focus on small acts of kindness.

Students and staff have created and shared affirmation wreaths, friendship flowers, wellbeing trees, and also taken the time to send messages of positivity to one another.

It is also a perfect day for us to give enormous thanks to Mindfulness Coach, Will George, and everyone that has helped organise Wellbeing Week, and of course, to all those who have taken part and brought all the ideas to life! It has been superb to see such positivity and engagement 🙏
