During a recent visit to the park, our children discovered just how powerful teamwork can be!

Working together, they learnt that by taking turns and cooperating they could make the rope swing move fast or slow, depending on how they worked as a team. They also had lots of fun on the trampoline, bouncing together to help each other jump higher, all while encouraging and cheering one another on.

Experiences like these help children to develop communication, cooperation, problem-solving skills and an understanding that working together can help us achieve great things.

At Nurtured @ Ecclesfield, we love finding creative and sustainable ways to extend children's learning.

Instead of throwing away unused cooked spaghetti, our babies enjoyed exploring its soft, squishy texture through sensory play. They loved squeezing, pulling, stretching and investigating the spaghetti with their hands, developing their curiosity and engaging all of their senses.

Sensory experiences like these help to support fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, language development and encourage children to explore the world around them through play.

Armed with watering cans and lots of enthusiasm, the children have loved watering our flowers and plants, learning that with a little care, patience and kindness, beautiful things can flourish.

Children learn so much by watching the people around them, and today was a wonderful example of learning through play!

Our children had so much fun chasing and copying our staff around the garden, laughing, running and challenging themselves along the way. The excitement continued as everyone raced to the top of our tyre tower, encouraging one another and celebrating each achievement. 💚

Experiences like these help children develop their gross motor skills, confidence, resilience and social skills, while showing them that being active is fun!
