Tiny wellies. Muddy adventures. Endless possibilities 🌿

Through outdoor learning and Forest School, children build confidence, curiosity, resilience, and joy…one puddle splash at a time.

Because the best learning happens when children are free to explore, discover and grow in nature 💚

The rain came pouring, the puddles got bigger and the fun got messier! 🌧️
It may be raining but that doesn’t stop us…Forest School adventures are always better with muddy wellies, splashy puddles and lots of laughter!

World Bee Day 🐝💛🍯

This week on the 20th of May, we will celebrate World Bee Day, a special day to recognise the important role bees and other pollinators play in our ecosystem. Bees help plants grow and support life on Earth, making them tiny creatures with a very big job! 🌎🐝

The children will be exploring our bee-themed sensory tray, using scoops and tools to investigate the coloured rice while developing their fine motor skills and curiosity. We will also be sharing stories and having discussions about why bees are so important and how we can help protect them. 🍯💛

Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David Attenborough! 🎂🎉

From all the children and staff at Anston Stones Early Years, thank you for inspiring generations to love, respect and care for our world.

Through your wonderful storytelling, beautiful nature programmes and lifelong passion for protecting wildlife, you have helped even our youngest children become curious explorers of nature. You have encouraged us to look closely at the birds in the sky, the bugs in the grass, the trees around us and the amazing creatures living across our planet. In Early Years, we believe children learn best through awe and wonder and you have given the world so much of both.

Thank you for helping children grow up with kindness, curiosity and a love for nature.

Wishing you a very happy 100th birthday filled with love, joy and celebration.

With best wishes,
Anston Stones Early Years

Today’s Forest School adventure was full of woodland magic 🌿🔥
The children explored nature and enjoyed a special treat…pancakes cooked over the fire! 🥞

22/04/2026

Today we tried something new at Forest School, cooking potatoes on the fire for the very first time! 🔥🥔
These ones were for staff (and they went down a treat!), but we can’t wait to share the experience with the children too.

Parents, keep your eyes peeled for upcoming Forest School events this summer term…and we can’t wait to share more outdoor adventures with you all! 🌿✨
