A huge well done to our amazing children who took part in the bowls competition at Stocksbridge Leisure Centre this week! You represented us brilliantly with enthusiasm, determination and fantastic sportsmanship.

A special thank you to the local bowls club for giving their time over the past few months to teach our children the skills of the game. The eligibility for Free School Meals is expanding!

This means your child may be entitled to free school meals if your family receives any of the following:

- Universal Credit
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- support as a family with no recourse to public funds (NRPF)

Applying is straightforward, confidential and saves you money every year.

Your child’s lunch account is automatically and confidentially credited with enough money for their school meal each day.

During lunchtime there is no distinction made between those receiving free school meals and those who do not.

At the start of each school year, the local authority will check the eligibility of new applications for FSM and current pupils with FSM, after which all eligible students will be entitled to FSM for the full academic year.

The children are incredibly proud to wear the new kit and represent our school. We can't wait to see them on the pitch next season!

On Thursday, our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a valuable trip to Crucial Crew, where they took part in a range of interactive workshops on their filmset-like street scene. This visit is designed to teach important life lessons and practical skills, such as water and road safety. As our children prepare for the move to Year 7, the experience provided them with the knowledge and confidence to become increasingly independent and responsible young people. We were incredibly proud of the excellent behaviour, maturity and engagement shown by all of our pupils throughout the day, which demonstrated just how ready they are for the next stage of their education
